A big knife might seem like it's better but they are usually less practical when it comes to fine carving tasks and are heavy on your belt or in your bag. If you look at people who actually spend a lot of time in the bush most of them are carrying knives that have a blade length of between 4-7in and a hatchet for chopping wood. If you need to cut through dense brush you can get a Cold Steel machete for around $20 as well. If you already have a Mora Companion I'd say just try to save up some more money and look at knives in the $50-$100 range
