 Now then, moving over 32 is one of those things that got everybody super excited when it was first announced last year and what is it? Well, it's a little desktop synthesizer with your AK format. You can use it like this, which is with it's lovely wooden, end cheeks. It'S got a MIDI input, which is what I'll control it from for the time being. So I can plug that straight in and play it straight from my MIDI keyboard

 A input means I can boost again coming out, so I can start to clip it if I really want to get a bit funky with that, but that's nice and useful, and additionally, while we're at it. Let'S do something else here: let's take the VCO pulse without and put that into the external audio. Now what we're getting is pulse width wave and a triangle wave then modulated, there's quite a lot of stuff. You could do there with the sequencer

 Let me show you before I do that, though, I'm just going to plug the keyboard into the filter, cutoff, just to show you that it is possible to actually play the filter, I'm going to plug something into the external audio and then move it right over and We'Re going to so yes, it is possible to play the filter tracking without the oscillator in there at all right. So let's get the VCO going on the LFO here right. So the first thing I'm going to do is I take the keyboard output and I'm going to go into the vc mix. Now the vc makes is a voltage control mixer

 Point on the patch Bay - that's actually quite nifty, because that assignable patch point means that through firmware updates, they can have it do lots of different things. It'S currently got a number of functions anyway, let's take a listen to a voice, starting with a sawtooth nice for the buzz good range on it. Let'S take a listen to the square wave, Oh for a long title variation of this they're moving on to the filter. The filter is actually quite interesting

For background, I primarily make dark ambient/drone and noisy techno, and I already have a Soma Lyra-8 and an Elektron Digitone (which often assumes drum duties—it's awesome for that). Seeing as I don't have a more conventional subtractive analog synth, I'm looking to fill that gap. But I don't want to be limited to conventional, which has drawn me to the world of semi-modular

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - August 23, 2021

  I can't get past having separate sequences as parts to a song. It always feels disconnected and hard to polish a full track.  I feel like Ableton *might* help with seeing a track laid out and help with mixing but I'm worried it would add a whole new huge layer of complexity when I'm already still trying to figure out so much.  So would it be easier to work inside a DAW when it comes to mixing and song structure?  Did I mess up by starting to learn music dawless?

 It sounds awesome. One could wish for a second oscillator like the Minitaur, but then the price would be a bit more too. Since it's Eurorack compatible, you can add another oscillator if you are going to use this in a skiff and build on it with other modules. If you want a bass synthesizer though that is stand alone, then perhaps the Minitaur is the way to go

 The first one is more of a sound design tool, the latter one is a bit easier to navigate although it has less voices and misses some of the features the Deepmind has. Both have presets.

I'm looking for a cheap analog synth maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 0-600 USD and that isn't some cheap piece of crap either. I initially was looking at Moog synths but that is way too out of my budget for the time being.   
Maybe a Roland or Korg?  


I would like to hear your thoughts.

What's a really decent, cheap analog synth?

  So I'm looking around on Amazon and see the Deep Mind 6 for less than $500 new. Whaaaaat? I remembered when they launched at $699 I thought that was a very reasonable price,however being from Behringer I was skeptical so I decided to hold off.So after I saw the price reduction I thought what the hell.  WOW

.This thing is built like a tank and sounds amazing.I honestly don't know how they are making a profit at this price. pros: all metal construction

 Having a subwoofer or larger speakers will pay off. With this thing I'll go down one octave as bad as low as I want to go. [, Music, ] sort of a piano ish, sound, [, Music, ], easily altering right, [, Music, ], [, Music, ], and so here's a patch with our Pidgey asian built-in. I don't have the arpeggiator on [, Music ]

 You can see it move every everything that you adjust so say. I go over here and adjust pitch mode on oscillator one that control is reflected here. If I change something else, randomly delay time, LFO one - you can see it here, so immediate visual feedback, very cool, the other thing. That'S really cool is

 If that sounds like a roads, it sounds a little rotary. It sounds more like an organ or something so I'm gon na use this to try to dial in a table. Sound, don't grade me too harshly. So just start with that

Hi everybody i'm mike sokolovsky with Crutchfield, and we're really excited about this new, relatively new synth from bérenger. It'S a six voice, analog polyphonic synthesizer at an amazing breakthrough price you're not going to find a synth that has this capability, this power at anywhere near this price. Something sort of Barringer's known for is breaking those price ceilings floors whatever you want to call them. What I love about this particular piece is that you don't have to have a degree in subtractive synthesis in order to use it and have a really good time
