Moment wildcat 101s would be a great choice. Incredible edge hold yet still playful and pivots on a dime. Can carve well at higher speeds too

This year I demoed Atomic bent chetler 100mm at vail and park city. I like the skis but felt I was struggling with them when the snow wasn’t great at park city last week. I just didn’t feel like I had as much stopping power if that even makes sense. I’m used to ice skating on the slopes in the Midwest. I’m looking to buy my first set of skis for next season and know literally nothing about skis. It seemed like the bent chetlers did great when the snow was nice in vail but only so so on older snow. I would like a ski that is all mountain capable with atleast 2/3 of the time spent off piste on black and double blacks. I would also like something nicer up to $1,000 in price.

Looking for advice on first set of skis

Moment wildcat 108s are def the move. Can drive them super hard but they still are super agile in steep terrain. If you want an even more hard charging ski, try the commander 108

Hey folks. I wore down my primary skis at the end of this season, so I have to get a new pair without being able to demo. I've done a good amount of reading on options and narrowed my choices, and I would love to get any advice from gearheads / anyone who has skied these planks before.

Profile: 32yo male, 6'0", 170lb, advanced/expert skier. Good form, ski forward/aggressive, bigger turns, speed, but that gets dialed back a bit on super steep/technical stuff; I'm good, and I want to beat most people down the mountain, but you wont see me in ski films anytime soon.

Where: West Coast US and Canada resort skiing / slackcountry. Think AltaBird, Jackson, Big Sky, etc. I don't live out there, though, so I can't pick my conditions unfortunately.

What: all mountain. spend most of my time on big mountain bowl skiing, some chutes and tight lines, steeps, trees. Some moguls and groomers obviously, comes with the territory of inbounds. Do side hits and small cliffs, not a park skier, not landing switch.

Last pair: one ski quiver, 2015 Blizzard Bonafides, 98mm underfoot, 180 length. Enjoyed the stiffness / charging quality of that ski for its size class, felt perfectly comfortable driving them

I'm clearly leaning toward a heavier, directional charger, but not so specialized that I can't use it as a daily driver. In an ideal world I would love to try something like a Black Crow Corvus, but I don't think that's practical since I don't live in the mountains and I can't pick and choose my powder days.

This is ideally for a one ski quiver, but I could see a world in which I also pick up another pair of Bonafides or Volkl Mantras and go two-ski.

What are your thoughts? Happy to take any and all feedback and advice, and I really appreciate the help!

 intermediate up to mellow advanced skier. 85mm underfoot

 in Nordica's Thai Hex Bridge construction. You get a lot of value with this ski.

 You get a lot of stability, you get a lot of power for this ski, but you don't really got to put a lot

 Tip shape really brings you into a turn, tail shape lets you hold on to that turn really really nicely. They're not too demanding, so maybe you've skied an Enforcer and you've found that to be a little bit too much for you, Navigator 85 is really really fun. Now along the same lines, advanced skiers, expert skiers, don't just look past this thing. It's super fun, it's a little lighter, it's a little snappier than Enforcer, you also get a little bit more feedback from the tail of the ski

 I really like this ski as an all-mountain ski. I think it's fair to say that these Navigator skis fly under the radar a little bit, much due to the fact that the Enforcer skis have become some of the most popular skis on the market. People often kind of shift their gaze past the Navigators and straight onto the Enforcers, but these skis deserve some credit too. So really good all-mountain ski

 You also get a more squared off tail shape. So essentially you get the tip shape of an Enforcer and the tail shape of a more dedicated carving ski. Construction of this ski, they use a wood core poplar and beech and then you get hex titanium bridge, which is really important and essentially they've taken a sheet of metal and removed geometric shapes like little polygonal shapes throughout it to leave a bridge of metal throughout the ski. So it's really cool, head on over to Nordica's site and you can see like an actual grid of it

 People often kind of shift their gaze past the Navigators and straight onto the Enforcers, but these skis deserve some credit too. So really good all-mountain ski. The shape of this thing is really cool and that's kind of key to its performance. So you get in the tip, you get quite a bit of tip rocker
