Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 vs Amazfit GTR 2

What ultimately worked was 3D Printing a dock of my own. It's on Thingiverse if anyone else has this problem. I've had trouble with the docks in the past watches, but this is a step backwards for the Ticwatch. They really need to step it up with this on the next version and maybe consider wireless charging

Shame. Oh and tech support closed my ticket after I submitted examples as they requested. Disappointing.

After a while though, the battery life got so bad that after about 8 hours, not even enough time for me to make it back to my house, it dropped below 30% and switched to battery saver mode. So, I was on the lookout for a new watch and had heard about the Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS and how it used the new Snapdragon 4100 processor. When it came on sale on Prime day, I just had to have it. I've worn the watch for about a week straight now and I have to say it's been a little bit of a disappointment

I recently used my Fossil Sport for a day and was reminded just how far behind Wear watches have fallen. Having used a watch with a decent battery, it was shocking to see that thing plunge to zero in a day.

I used an Asus Zenwatch 2 and got as a present a fitbit Inspire 2. I liked the functionality of the Wear OS and when I started to use the fitbit I liked the monitoring of health and sleep functions. Need to say that the inspire 2 works very well in the sleep tracking, the step count and heart rate monitor. Since this watch have all the functions plus the oxygen monitor and the best performance of the battery not only because of the capacity of the battery but the use of the dual display this looks the right option

The fitness features aren’t bad but still pretty basic. It does have several workout profiles such as Running (Outdoors and treadmill), Cycling (regular bike and exercise bike) and Strength training. These are all the ones I use are but there are plenty to choose from. The watch has built in GPS which does work somewhat

I no longer consider this feature a differentiator. Like so many people today, I have multiple devices that track my activities - Garmin and Wahoo bike computers, this type of integrated usage tracking and application integration is a must. I used the watch when I swam as well but I didn’t use any of the apps to track my speed, distance, etc. The watch, however, did track my active heart rate

I’ve seen stories about sensors failing after a shower and where direct streams of water can over pressurize the IP68 rating. I am an avid fisher and boater; I will have to worry about accidental water exposure, and I am hesitant to trust the “pool swimming suitable” rating from Mobvoi. I do not want to brick a $300 watch. This is the reason why I can top up the device as needed while showering, 15 minutes of charging seems to increase the battery by about 10%

Was fun to see the map of my walk, how intensive certain parts were, etc. Have worn it while kayaking and brief swims and it hasn’t had any issues with water. Batter charging nodes haven’t worn down at all (I have a cheaper old smart watch and it’s battery nodes corroded over time and it sucked, this one hasn’t had any issue)(plus I sweat a lot so it’s impressive how little this one shows any wear at all). Overall love this watch

I use it for weather, walk tracking, and Hangouts messages and texts (until that's killed off in January anyway). \+ Handles notifications well.

Im running a lot of apps on my phone and I want to be notified on my smartphone which app is sending the notification.

It looks great. It has many nice features. I'd recommend the company steal Amazfit's power scheme, this watch can and should get a week or two between charges. Giving an option to make Google Fit the single source of truth across all displays on the watch would also be a good thing, especially since it is a Google Wear OS watch and many buying it are getting it for that exact reason

I primarily ordered the GTR2 (sports version) for the looks and after doing a lot of research decided to try it out. I had 3 different Fitbit devices and they all failed on me (hardware issues) so I wanted something different but affordable. The GTR 2 has nice looks but still has some flaws. I had it for a week now, was frustrated at the start but it kept growing on me

Its comfortable to wear and I'm normally not a fan of things on my wrist. It doesn't always track my sleep, but i also charge it at night as i use it in full mode where you get about a day and a half of battery.. so i charge it nightly so i have the next day

-Comfortable to wear -Heart monitor is accurate and is automatic. - SP02 is accurate, although the fact that it only works manually, and usually takes several tries to get a reading is annoying. Conclusion: For the price point, this watch is just OK. Obviously there are many more cons than good things in my review
