The Miele Dynamic U1 PowerLine is a corded upright vacuum with impressive build quality. It delivers superb cleaning performance on bare floors and does a great job of picking up various kinds of debris on both low and high-pile carpet. It's extremely simple to maintain, with an intuitive design that makes it easy to take apart and reassemble. There's a few quality of life enhancements, including an on-board tool rack, a self-adjusting vacuum head, and an adjustable suction level

We have discovered if you vacuum in one direction, the exhaust--with almost near-precision--creates walls of hair to suck up easily with the incredibly short hose. See #4. #4 Crazy. Short

Lastly, the brush attachment has a swivel design but does not click in place to hold position, so that when you stroke it across any surface, the brush just swivels away from the surface. The brush loses all utility. I brought this up on a customer service call with Miele and they admitted the design flaw yet did expressed no interest in making an improvement. Overall, it's a good working vacuum but at the end of it's life cycle, I'll be looking for another model or brand that has functionality and user-experience as a higher priority

The Kenmore is a bit more powerful than the Kirby in general; being a much more modern design. It would certainly do a better job on your hard floors and perhaps even your carpet.

It does use a bag. It does have a HEPA filter. It just works and it is easy to move around. This isn't the 1k dollar Miele

There is a cloth pre-motor filter at the top of the dust bin that needs to be washed and one (the exhaust filter) in a tray on the bottom of the canister itself that needs to be changed when it gets dirty. Like with all vacuum cleaners with spinning brushes, definitely keep that clean as well. Also, a lot of the dust bin is meant to be disassembled by the user in case it gets too dirty. The manual would tell you how to do all of this

So the bottom line is can this vacuum clean up the nemesis of my nemesis - that which is the dreaded cat sand. And to my great surprise, not only can it clean up infamous gritty kitty it doesn't sand blast your legs, arms, and eye sockets with flying chunks while doing so. That is an amazing feat. For an encore it also picks up those pesky giant clumps of hair on my hardwood floor without blowing pieces away or up into my face and eyes

Although the Kenmore has best in class suction power and carpet beater, it's just a PITA to use and manuever around. Also, the removable hose for the attachments is painfully short, and a lot of people have griped about it. So, when the Vacuum Wars guy said that although this vacuum has best suction power, they used the Shark almost all the time in their house cleaning business because it was just much easier to use AND it had good enough suction power. Actually, better than good enough, but excellent

If indeed that is the problem, it will cost us >$160 per year just in filters to manage this $700 dollar machine. Tried to get assistance from Amazon which is a joke. I believe the Amazon chat people are trained in obtuseness just to get people to give up and go away. Don't buy this product if you have animals and don't expect Amazon to help with anything

Because of that, you need to wash the pre-motor filter and wipe the inside of the bag compartment every so often. That is one thing I wish Kenmore would fix. If you do not mind that, it is a good unit.

The swivel head and attached suction hose are really nice. I ding it one star because the door to get to the bag is very hard to open and close; I'm afraid that I will break something. Save your money on the performance pack; you can buy it separately for slightly less. I bought the combination for an extra $100 over the vacuum alone

However, this vacuum doesn't come with a extension hose which is necessary for the vacuum to be more efficient. This is a grave omission since the unit itself is really great. The suction is strong, and handles cat hair and litter on hardwood floors. The pet hair attatchment is a plus for furniture, but is difficult to use since there isn't an extension hose

It swivels; it takes 3 minutes to get used to and you'll never want another vacuum. This is our second one after 15 years. Our first one kept us tidy while we had a husky, a long-haired cat, and a short haired cat -all with a double coat. This one handles four cats - two with double coats - with ease

Kenmore top load direct drive 70-80 series. Oldies but are solid and if they do go, they are really easy to work on. Anyone can do it tbh

Do not spend this kind of money for a very poorly designed vacuum that blocks up frequently and is very difficult to clear blockage. Over priced and unreliable.

At least it had one for being mid range on price. The height settings are really good. It's got 4. Those self adjusters from others never seem to work right
