  Most of my writing is pretty temporary; to-do lists, phone numbers, or scribbling nonsense just testing a new pen or ink.  The Mnemosyne line has been much more practical for me; I love that I can have high quality paper that's easy to rip out without destroying the notebook lol.

Current state of the Mnemosyne collection. I don't have a problem, I can quit whenever I want...

  If you are using this book with Sharpie Markers or anything like that, I wouldn't suggest it but for an average user, I'd say it would be a good start before shelling out twice as much for a bigger brand name.

Great value for money, fantastic paper, more feedback than rhodia, Clairefontaine, tomoe River or apica (all of those are pretty smooth). So if those papers are too "slippery" for you, midori MD is the paper to go for. Also, they lay open flat, you have good shading, zero feathering or bleedthrough.

This year the school committee decided on a good hardcover notebook. I suggested the Moleskine, but they are slightly over budget. So my question is, do you know of a brand of notebooks that‘s pretty good quality for under $15? 

I’ve seen many knockoffs, and most always feel cheap. I’m looking for something that still feels like a good quality notebook.

Cheaper alternative to Moleskine with similar quality

 The paper in the notebook is incredibly smooth and it works well with all the fountain pen inks that I have tried on it (J Herbin Perle Noire, Diamine Asa Blue, Diamine Twilight, PR Sherwood Green, Diamine Oxblood & Rohrer & KLingner Salix). I like it that the color of the paper is a very light cream (the papers in the new Quo Vadis Habana notebook and Rhodia Webnotebook are too yellowish for my taste). The notebook is excellent in almost every respect.

The seller shipped the item to India free of cost. It took a while for the book to arrive but it was worth the wait. I love this brand for my writing projects. Despite being obsessed with my computer for my doctoral work, I still need a pen and paper. The only issue I have with this particular item is that it's a bit smaller than the CD 15 7mm notebooks. Otherwise, I love it
