Microsoft Surface Go 3 vs Microsoft Surface Pro 9

I'm mostly a portable operator and have settled on the Microsoft Surface Go 3. It's tablet sized but it's a Windows 11 machine. Way lighter than the 17" HP laptop I was using.

Cradling its 1.9-pound weight in one arm is no strain. Even the trimmest 2-in-1 convertible laptop can’t compare; for instance, the HP Spectre x360 13.

Finally battery life sucks. The quoted 7 hours is laughable. I dont seem to get much more than 4 maybe 5 hours which is appalling. The good thing is i’m not often that far from a power plug so it’s not been a problem yet

I also noticed the battery life with just web browser, OneNote (inking and audio recording), and perhaps Adobe Acrobat drain the battery a lot sooner than expected. The machine is new and hardly used for anything but grad school stuff. I think I used it for two or three school day and it was dying.

$105 for the alcantara keyboard. Another $30 for a 128gig microSD. Biggest gripe is that I wish the bezels were smaller and the screen closer to 11". If they just improve palm rejection there wouldn't be a need for thick bezel

Here is the thing though with the s8 ultra it is too big and does not do the laptop/hybrid as well as the SP9. SP9 has more color options with the device and keyboards than the competition and I think the 13 inch, 3:2 ratio is just the perfect large tablet size. It is easy enough to hold in your hands but has enough real estate for viewing content. Oh yeah, the performance is much higher than tab s8 ultra with a Geekbench score of over 8000 in multicore in the i5 version
