 I still needed to do my Vitamin C routine, so I did that. And yeah, this is what my skin looks like right now in morning. Day seven: my skin seems significantly less red than the night before, so I'm really happy for that. Um, the Vitamin C is really doing its work by brightening and evening out my redness

 So this is the eighth morning and it's my last day of doing the Vitamin C challenge and this is my final results. I definitely see that my skin is definitely looking better than before, especially one side of the face. It's definitely less hyper pigmented and I know it One week is not going to do much, but it is working because I see a little difference and I'll continue using this product because I really like it and hopefully we see some good results by like the three month mark you.

 All right. So I'm just gonna top it off with moisturizer and call it a night tonight. Guys, this is Day five in the Morning update and this is what my skin looks like. Without anything on today, I really see a difference in my skin

 Yeah, so I'm just gonna go in with four or five drops. As usual, I'm just gonna pat that in to my skin. I noticed that people have been experiencing a lot of like masking which is like inflammation and growing. You know, acne under a mask from using the mask for too long

 I’m also in the uk and got a vichy vitamin c serum from boots which was much cheaper and I thought did a good job of lightening some of my darker spots ! Just looked it up and it says 15% vitamin c. Both the skinceuticals one and the Vichy one have quite a sticky texture which I don’t really like but I have seen results. People love melano cc vitamin c which I also tried.

So far I am liking it, my skin is feeling soft and more even toned and brighter, but going to wait until I’ve used the whole bottle to decide whether It’s worth the price tag.. Best vitamin c serum to buy? [product question]

For those with leftover red marks from acne (PIH): Melano CC Essence. The packaging keeps the vitamin C stable for a long time, unlike traditional dropper style packaging from other brands. It’s gentle and feels oily initially, but after two minutes it feels like you didn’t even put anything on your face. Results aren’t instant, but after a month of daily AM use my acne marks had considerably faded

Care to share your beauty products, makeup, skincare, tips you can always trust in and swear by

 Overall, it’s a nice refreshing mist. I don’t regret purchasing it even though there’s cheaper facial mists out there.

Rant, Raves, and Mini Reviews May 2021

It's so affordable and one tube lasts forever. The packaging is great for everyday use and travel. Everything I've used from Rohto has been so good on my skin. Melano cc essence, shirojyun, even the hadalabo face wash - they're all gentle and kind to my skin

1 week difference with Melano CC daily. It's subtle but my hyperpigmentation usually takes months to fade, so this is huge to me. Skin type: dry, acne prone, south asian so very hyperpigmentation prone.

I can't handle fragrance (which means no popular Neutrogena Ultra sheer, no Aveeno and no Hawaiian tropic), I can't handle denatured alcohol (no hydroboost and a few others I can't remember at the moment) and I can't handle essential oils (there goes Australian gold and a lot of "natural" sunscreens like Alba Botanica and such). Mineral sunscreens are often too drying on my already dry skin and they cause eczema flares for me (bye bye Coppertone pure & simple, Bare Republic, Cerave hydrating and Neutrogena Sheer Zinc). I have had allergic reactions to Cerave AM, SunBum face 50 and Neutrogena Clear Face

 It is the trial and error that can get expensive. Many people can't afford to keep trying things that end up in the trash or just sitting on a shelf unused etc. I do see some comments here sometimes where people are like "oh, you've only tried 2-3 things, you can't say ALL face washes break you out" but what if that person cannot afford to buy a FOURTH cleanser that may break them out too.

.. SO BAD! I have tried almost every drugstore sunscreen and they all break me out, cause allergic reactions or dry me out.

 I do see some comments here sometimes where people are like "oh, you've only tried 2-3 things, you can't say ALL face washes break you out" but what if that person cannot afford to buy a FOURTH cleanser that may break them out too...

There is a general consensus that luxury skincare is indeed out of most people's budget. But it seems very true that even "affordable" products such as TO and drugstore brands are expensive for a lot of people. Then there is the whole another sunscreen situation where you need a lot, but for many people it's hard to find one that is tolerable to wear.

(Love or hate her) Dr.Dray said in one of her more recent videos that even "affordable" options she recommends are going to be too expensive for a lot of people. And when you factor in other resources like time, mental health, disposable income, bills etc. you start to see how even "accessible" is relative.

Is skincare actually inaccessible to most? [MISC]

I wouldn’t say I have the most sensitive skin, but I always select products suitable for sensitive skin. This one made my face sting and was not effective in removing makeup (even after removing most of it with micellar water makeup remover). I love La Roche’s micellar water that I’ve used in the past, so I figured I would try their cleanser based on numerous positive reviews and dermatologist recommendation. Not satisfied and will be sticking with my previous cleanser

Not suitable for all senstoce skin

**Sheet Masks:** Mediheal HDP Photoready Tightening Mask. I get less oily during the day when I use this, but it still feels moisturizing. It's suitable for AM use because of how well the essence sinks in. My pores look slightly smaller after use, too! Does what it claims to, and I keep a pack of these in my fridge at all times

 I notice it's slightly calming, and ever so slightly viscous, but it isn't that moisturizing. It has an herbal smell that I enjoy, but it doesn't do so much that I'm dying to get a full size. MRP.

 The only true matte moisturizer I've ever come across. I've tried the iUnik Centella Calming Gel Cream for those wondering, but didn't like the sticky finish. It actually felt drying because of it. But the Ato Cream? Omg, life changing

ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! August 2021

   Definitely see a dermatologist. But also if you use any hair products it might help to cut down on ones that contain a lot of comedogenic ingredients. I got the worst breakout of my life after having fairly decent skin because i was using a particular hair product. Once i stopped using it my breakouts became less severe

   But definitely see a dermatologist and try incorporating a retinol and good moisturizer into your routine. Cerave, inky list, and la roche posay seem to be quite reputable in terms of helping people with severe breakouts. Personally i use both cerave and la roche products as well as cetaphil eczema soothing moisturizer with colloidal oatmeal. 

[Acne]I need help with figuring out how to clear my acne. I’ve used multiple products but nothing has really worked, for about a year I’ve been using these clarity products. Any recommendations or advice would be very helpful

La Roche Posay is the best! I am constantly raving about it. The only brand I trust on my super sensitive skin. :)

3. Youth to the people dream mask: OMG very few skin products are so effective in such a short period of time. It does exactly what it says it does which is hydrate hydrate hydrate! It has a beautifully mild smell and is quite light for an overnight mask. It leaves my skin looking smooth, supple and soft

My skin type is mixed (leaning towards dry), sensitive, easily agitated, and acne-prone. Skin concerns are dryness, comedones and acne. Skin goals are to have clear, smooth, glowing  skin.
