The Matein Travel is a great backpack for a great price. We love the wide variety of pockets that can accommodate multiple laptops, if necessary. We found the interior padding protected our previous tech from plops, drops, and inadvertent kicks. The zippers are also exceptionally smooth &mdash; we were pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to open and close the pockets of this bag. It also comes equipped with additional features that differentiate it from many other packs including a USB plug/port combo, detachable keychain clip, and a complement of auxiliary pen, water bottle, and catchall pockets. 
There are only a couple of features that we question with this pack. The zippers &mdash; and there are many of them &mdash; are very jingly when walking. Though there is sufficient padding for what goes inside, we found that when this pack is full of equipment, the back can feel lumpy. Though it stood up just fine during testing, we wonder about the long-term durability of the stitching. However, at this price point, there is no pack we'd rather have for toting our laptops.

 It holds a LOT! It was comfortable on my back; the straps are well padded. I liked that I could also carry it on my carry on suitcase using the strap (on the backpack) that fit over the handle of the carry on suitcase; it was a bit snug getting it to fit over the handle, but it securely held the backpack on top of my Travel Pro carry on suitcase. It seems sturdy and held up well for what I need it for.

LOTS of storage sections and pockets and fits under the seat of  the airplane.

 So an excellent bargain bag, and I love that it has that dock on it, but I think it's faster not to use it, at least when topping off my laptop; for mobile devices, it's perfect between classes. I put it on the table in front of me or the chair next to me, and I don't get to take out the pack to charge my phone, for instance. But yet again, if you want to drop kick or throw your excellent expensive tablet or laptop, get a damn shock-resistant setup, not this thing.

 I was almost lazy enough to drive to another parking lot. That is how big the campus is instead walked that far. In the end, all the walking made me pretty sore but also glad, as I know from my youth in the boot that bag is moving. I know because I had a frame from my pack in the boot with too much wait digging into me leave bare spot one hike as they strapped some M16 to my collection; I could feel with every step that bag moving as it rubbed me

Good but still cheap, padding is to prevent wear from walking around, not throwing it.

I purchased this when my company started sending me to job sites that I had to fly to, to replace the small breifcase style one they gave me so I could fit more of what I needed in it. You can easily fit a laptop, tablet, storage clip-board, and two days worth of clothes and it will still fit under the seat for flights. Even in the little planes that only seat like 20 people.

 The compartments are perfect for storing and organizing SO MUCH STUFF! I also prefer using a backpack rather than pulling a small piece of luggage with wheels. This is especially true when I have the larger luggage to be checked, but still in the coming and going one is stuck with the nuisance of rolling both small and large pieces of luggage and it can be problematic. However, using a backpack avoids that problem and it is comfortable to wear because the weight inside is distributed in the all the different compartments. In addition, the backpack material is strong and looks good, and even matches the color of my hard-side luggage

I ordered this for airplane travel and because this backpack supposedly fits a 17" laptop. Upon receipt, it seemed alot more compact than I expected and my 17 inch laptop takes up most of the room, without leaving room for much else. Dimensions are: -17" shoulder drop -47 centimeters high -26 centimeters wide -Back padded laptop compartment fits up to a 17" laptop  The material is 100% polyester and is very stiff. Although it is a nice streamlined design, I think the overall design should have allowed for more room when carrying a laptop

High Price tag for Small Space

I love Timbuk2 bags and really wanted to love this bag. The bag is high quality and has some excellent pockets and features but I found the profile just too slim for my needs. I'll be trading it in for a larger capacity bag.

 You can definitely fit a 10 or 11 inch tablet, and this sleeve is a little bit suspended off the bottom of the ground and also thicker than many of the slip pockets that i've seen in other bags like this. So i like that it does give you some extra protection whenever you need it, so just a really nice simple layout in this main area and throughout the rest of the bag. I really like the aesthetic and, if you're, looking for a comfortable and versatile bag, that's going to offer a lot of awesome pocketing for your tech and edc essentials, and this is going to be a really good option to check out and so to wrap up. It'S been a great experience, testing out the q laptop backpack 2

 It comes in at 20, liters so very close in size to this, but it feels like it can hold way more just due to the simpler layout and that clamshell style opening it's also comfortable to wear. It has great laptop protection and, if you're, just looking for a bag, that's going to give you a little more flexibility with its layout and that can also work well for minimal travel and that's going to be a fantastic option to keep in mind with. That being said, the timbuk2q laptop backpack holds up well against all those bags and, if you're looking for a reliable comfortable bag, that's going to offer a nice amount of organization, and this is still going to be a really great option to consider. And i'm definitely curious to hear what you guys think of the q backpack 2

Timbuk2 Q 2.0 Laptop Backpack Review - SOLID EDC / Tech Bag

This pack is really a good everyday commuter bag, which is what I bought it for. There are a lot of handy pockets to keep you organized and it looks sharp/professional. It has a generous built in laptop sleeve, and is comfortable when loaded down. One complaint I do have is the rigid construction, there is little flexibility in the interior pockets, and in the exterior construction

 I came to appreciate the straps after realizing that despite the initial discomfort, they actually secure the backpack better to my body. They provide a firmer hold of the bag which helps prevent the straps from slipping down my arms and helps prevent the backpack from bouncing around my back.  The bag is well padded, particularly the rear laptop compartment which is totally separate from the main compartment. I feel very safe carrying my laptop in the laptop compartment

  The laptop compartment is can comfortably fit laptops up to a 15”. Once above 15-inches, it gets a little more difficult to fit. I have a hefty 17-inch EliteBook that is my benchmark for measuring capacity. It cannot fit into the dedicated laptop compartment of this bag because it’s too thick and large

Solid techie backpack

 Timbuk2's claim of holding a 17" laptop must be based on the assumption that people are Mac users. As a PC guy, I wouldn't be able to cram anything larger than a thin-and-light 15" into the pocket. It has no strap or zipper to secure the laptop once inside.  Again, the main compartment is not spacious, but it's find for a lunch, a few books, and some miscellany

The Q 2.0 is unlike most other Timbuk2 bags I have used, and that's intended as a compliment. Whereas Timbuk2 tends to prefer super-durable, minimalist sacks, this is a well-organized daypack intended for the daily commuter who wants to be able to find their stuff quickly.  My first caveat about the bag is that it is small

 Consequently, I did not do any weather testing on it.  Overall this is a very comfortable, well-made, small daypack that would make a great unisex purse replacement. It's fine for a bike commuter, but I'd put a rain shell over it if using it for a daily commute. There might be a few tweaks I would make for version 3
