 Those are the ones that have now become watches I love the most these tool watches. I've just come to appreciate them so much more and this is a wash that kind of fits that mold as well. And from a design perspective these have a leg to stand on because I think they're very different than what you're going to find out there. Cool history and I think pretty reasonable prices as well for what you're getting

 In designing the new watch, the Canadian government called for a thicker bezel that would be easier to turn with the thick neoprene diving gloves required in frigid waters. So Marathon collaborated. As you might imagine with members of the Canadian forces, but also with members of the watch enthusiast community in designing this new watch. By 2000, the Sar watches were presented and at the time the dial featured traditional printed luminescent markers and an overall design in keeping with the Us Military Type 1 specification more often associated with the Benris type one and two of dive watches of the 1970s

 I think a lot of people just probably go back to my videos in 2018 and think I'm like a dress watch obsessed guy. But honestly if you want to get a feel of what the modern uh just kind of context of what my taste is, it really is more of like the Tudor black bays of the world. it's the Marathon Jisar of the world. Also getting into Zen which has become one of my favorite brands and some of these other German brands of that type

 And from a design perspective these have a leg to stand on because I think they're very different than what you're going to find out there.  I didn't really know anything other than that I wanted a watch that I could wear with a lotta stuff and had a timeless, no pun intended, really, look. And I also didn't really know where to look for watches, so the first one I actually got was from J.Crew, and it was the Timex T2N321 circa 2010 for J.Crew

 not a real Gucci watch, on a class trip to New York City when I was in high school. There was a period of time when I didn't really think about watches that much at all. I was in college, grad school, and I was just laser-focused on that experience, practicing my saxophone, playing gigs, and watches kind of took a back seat to all of that. But Then once I got settled, had a job, and finally started thinking more about improving how I dressed, building up my wardrobe, that's when I began scratching the surface of the watch hobby

it's something that I try
my hardest to achieve.

So Rolex had become, in my
mind at that particular time,

Now you could be cynical
about their marketing

as the reason that that
thought was in my mind,

But there's also a reason
that Rolex is Rolex,

and why people sometimes
say bow to the crown.
