 The Marantz and the CXA sounded much better. The sound of the CXA-81 was a bit more bass heavy than the Marantz, which was fine, but I would not say it was superior. With sound quality being equal and much better than the Harman Kardon HK3480, the Marantz has a much better set of features. Having a built in steamer with HEOS is really awesome

 I have another HEOS speaker and connecting the two is easy and flawless. I am adding two more HEOS speakers once then arrive. So why only 4 stars? Only one set of speaker terminals. Who builds a $1200 stereo with only one set of speaker connections? Marantz, I guess

 It'S got a really nice low bass and it's extended and that's welcome. Considering this is a 60 watt, amplifier fantastic. I would say that it's not quite as dynamic in bass department as a cyrus one cast that I looked at, but unsurprisingly, that's much higher power output, it's also a Class D design. So I think you could probably expect that [ Music ] what this Marantz does have, though, is just a nicer, more dynamic, midbass and overall, it's a totally more, even listen, which would you prefer? I think both of these amplifiers are good amplifiers and it's going to come down to taste, but there's no doubt

 Obviously the Sonos app it's it's up there with all of them, if not probably the best [ Music ]. It'S also a UPnP streamer, which means universal plug and play that sounds complicated to some people who don't know what it is. But basically, it's a means of recognizing a drive on your network, music containing drive or a computer on your network, for which it can access and play those files. Now the reason why I say that this app is right up, there was being as good as pretty much any app that you can

 Obviously, it's a Class, A B design in terms of speaker matching I've found that it did suit my pmc 25 23's, even though they're quite a bit more expensive, the PMC's all really really dynamic, and you didn't lose out there at all, because speakers already really really Good in that department, with some definitive technology demand D Elevens, they have a nice soft, mid bass and that seem to complement that type of sound in the speaker. The marantz complimented that, with some neat io2 alpha speakers, I have at the moment not quite as well matched because the neat is a rear, ported design. It also has a floor firing bass driver and you really need really really accurate low bass in order for them to sound, really really good. I just thought the marantz was a little bit diffuse in the lowest of bass to really suit these speakers

Marantz PM7000N : Chipping Away at Audiophile HiFi

I wanted a receiver that would stream tidal at max quality direct and have enough power to drive my KEF ls50s well. I wanted to avoid an outboard DAC and also avoid Bluetooth.

The only issue is the HEOS application is very laggy. Otherwise the product is really high quality and over preforms at this price point.

For me, this unit looks very dated and something you would see in grandmas house. Looks wise, its a total fail, considering this is a new release.  The fact that I cant stream 24 bit MQA files from TIDAL is a dealbreaker for me as well. A supposedly modern amp should include this

My budget is <US$4,000. I've listened to three amps in my price range so far (all on the same set of speakers from a dealer):

This was a very bright sounding amp. It was detailed enough and seemed not to roll off the high end, which was nice. The mids seemed to get lost just a little in certain songs, though. The style is *something* and I'm not sure I love it, but it is unique

This was the most "neutral" amp of the three. It's not integrated (so I'd need a preamp) but is least expensive, so that helps. I do like that it was more flat in terms of sound, but it wasn't as engaging as the other two, although that might be by design.

Full tube amp. This was probably the most unique sounding (and highest priced). Very intimate sound that really emphasized the mids without reducing the lows and highs.

Just bought a Samsung HW-S60T Soundbar. It’s pretty decent with the exception of its comically short power cord. I’ve looked around for extensions with no success, whether from Samsung or elsewhere. Anyone have any leads? I’m thinking my next best bet would be to just cut the cord and connect it to a longer cable, but I’ve never soldered wire in my life. Where could I go to get this done professionally? Computer or electronics repair shop?

Ideally, I'd like both the stereo (CD/tape/AM/FM) and my turntable to come out of my Edifier speakers, bypassing the Aiwa's speakers. I understand I need a middleman receiver of some kind, but I don't know what. [The Aiwa only has an aux](https://imgur.com/a/Xj0aUIS), so I worry that if that's how it is connected to the receiver, it won't actually output the CD/tape deck, since [those are different settings.](https://imgur.com/a/NxJWQTn)

I was able to play the U-Turn out of the stereo's AUX setting, but the sound was trash.

Any help is appreciated. In terms of budget I don't really care, I suppose less than $300 would be ideal. But if it perfected the setup so I could listen to CDs, tapes, and records through my speakers, I would splurge.

What's up. I'm looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker and came here for some recs. I have a JBL Pulse 3 right now and I've had it for a while but it doesn't really produce the volume and bass that I'd like from a speaker. I like the lights on the pulse 3 but I would much prefer a speaker with better sound delivery than any type of lights. Although, I do like the size of it. I don't have much of a budget. Onkyo TX-NR656. I'm using it right now with my old   
Boston Acoustics MCS 90 Speakers. I'd like to upgrade my speakers to an Atmos system or just anything for live music and movies. I'm really a newb when it comes to this and am looking at suggestions. I think I want to do floor speakers they just need to be oak in color but I'm flexible. I have been looking at Klipsch R-625FA but I'm not sure what direction I should go in.  My budget is 1000-1500 maybe. I really appreciate any help!

It’s never been more apparent that Google filters it’s results until you try to find an integrated amp under $500. There are 4 brands. No more. No less. 

Anyway, does the technology improve in mid-low level amps enough every year that I can justify spending full price? I feel like the better route is to buy something maybe 4 years old for 30-40% less than it was new but I’m reading about the Cambridge Audio axr100 being this magical amp with sound quality that matches amps at twice its price. But I feel like everyone says that.

Same on the right yet a higher pitch sound at around 850 and 1350 hz.

Anyone know the causes of this kind of stuff

Hey guys I have a Schiit Modi which I currently use as a DAC for my Magni. I am about to purchase a Rega Elax-R for my speakers. My question is if there is a detrimental effect on audio quality if I use the output from the magni as a pre-amp for my Rega. Essentially I would only be doing this so that I dont need to swap out cables behind the dac when I want to swap from headphones to speakers.

I know that the modi is probably not a great DAC for this amp, I'll be upgrading that later. Thanks for the advice.

I am looking for a new (integrated optional) amplifier. Right now I'm using my Onkyo receiver but am looking to move the TV to another room and focus on using this as a listening area. I'm not really interested in a DAC or streaming amp, since I have my own DAC and will be using a dedicated PC to stream.

My budget is <US$4,000. I've listened to three amps in my price range so far (all on the same set of speakers from a dealer):

## McIntosh MA252

This was a very bright sounding amp. It was detailed enough and seemed not to roll off the high end, which was nice. The mids seemed to get lost just a little in certain songs, though. The style is *something* and I'm not sure I love it, but it is unique.

## Jadis Orchestra Black

Full tube amp. This was probably the most unique sounding (and highest priced). Very intimate sound that really emphasized the mids without reducing the lows and highs.

## PS Audio Stellar S300

This was the most "neutral" amp of the three. It's not integrated (so I'd need a preamp) but is least expensive, so that helps. I do like that it was more flat in terms of sound, but it wasn't as engaging as the other two, although that might be by design.

Any thoughts of these three? Any others I should be looking at instead? I haven't listened to too many different systems in my time, so this is all new to me.

hi, very new to stero audio.  I purchased some speakers on prime and I'd like to make sure I set them up right.  Anyone have an recommendations for audio reciever/amp/cables etc for these? legit dont even know how to get these working. Also how good are these?

Hi, I'm currently looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers around the £200 mark and am currently thinking between the Dali Spektor 2 or the Emotiva Airmotiv B1+  -  which would you recommend? or would you recommend me a different pair?

My amp is an NAD 3020A.

The Emotiva's also seem quite difficult to find anywhere online in stock.
