1. I read some articles by a professional audio engineer saying that EQ should be done per individual Speaker, otherwise it makes no sense, what are your thoughts on that?

Room EQ done via REW and a Behringer ECM8000 mic powered by EVO4 and controlled via PEQ inside MiniDSP.

Everything changed for me after entering the world of ROOM EQ, no more weird or forced sounds everything became cleaner and smoother the bass is now the right amount and it's amazing. The upgrade is comparable to going from a logitech system to KEF Q350. Incredible how speaker position and room can affect the sound so much.

 On the analog signal, of course, that means little if it doesn't result in improved sound quality. The good news is that the same, smooth swap temperament and even tempered balance of the pm 6005 manifests itself in the pm6006 from the first few guitar twangs of santana's song of the wind, but switching between the two we notice, the 6006's presentation is notably cleaner and Clearer, more solid too, particularly through the [ Music ] mid-range [, Music ], the bluesy instrumentals have more assurance. The epic electric guitar solo, ripping through the arrangement, has more impassion and soaring pathos, while the emirates is determined to pull symbols, bass, guitar and drums into your attention span. Marantz PM6006 [Review & Specifications]

 The headphone amp I bought was the Topping A30 Pro NFCA Headphone Amplifier right here from Amazon. Only took a week for it to arrive and it worked flawlessly with the Marantz streamer. I can now use the same Marantz remote to control playback, volume etc. So now I'm a happy camper

 Highs and lows weren't overwhelming. There seemed to be a good balance between low, mid and high range. Playing via Bluetooth was flawless; not so much using wifi. There were annoying breaks in the songs using wifi; using Bluetooth, no issues

 I have a very strong wifi signal in my loft and I can stream hi def movies with no issues so that was a bit of an annoyance and may have pushed me over the edge to return it. But as long as Bluetooth is flawless I can overlook that. I'm streaming using Apple AirPlay and will need to try some of the other options. I have Spotify and Amazon music and Sirius so will give them a try as time allows

  Update 10/15/2021: So to followup on my initial review after doing some research I found a way around the headphone volume limitation that I detailed in my original review of this streamer. After reading thru the manual I realized that I had an option that wasn't immediately obvious. The streamer has fixed and variable audio rca outputs. Using the variable audio outputs I connected that to a headphone amp that had rca inputs

So a couple months ago i got a Marantz NR1200 for 599 (plus ~$50 tax) from a brick and mortar shop and apparently the NR1200  just does not having the power i crave, i snagged this sweet PM6006 for only $425 open box special.  Upon delivery it looked like it had been bought, tried out and sent right back because none of the accessories appear to have been used and the amp itself had few smudges but no scratches or dings or any physical damage i can tell.  And the sound? Oh. My

 God. The elacs on the pm6006 vs on the nr1200 was like having a whole different set of speakers and subwoofer, i just cannot stress enough how wildly different the sound of the integrated amp is compared to the receiver. Never going back this amp is a fuckin beast.

Retired the Marantz NR1200 after 2 months (who wants it?) and upgraded to PM6006 and from sscs5 to the Elacs got the amp for $425 flat online open box with full warranty!

Looking to purchase a set of IEM's and torn between these two, price aside. I've read that the blessing2 may be too treble forward for some and that the stardrop is warm and easy to listen to but lacks some clarity.

I have a pair of BLON BL-03 running through a cheap dragonfly style USB DAC/AMP that I have used for the past year for this purpose but I've really found the bass to be overwhelming recently and picked up a pair of Koss KSC75's to fill the void for the time being. I actually am really enjoying the KOSS since they have that open back feel that I am most familiar with but there are still some tracks that I miss the level of sound I achieve with my higher end gear at home.

To give you an example of something I didn't enjoy was when I swithed from originally listening to my HD6XX on my Marantz PM6006 to a Schiit Magni 3. I found the sound really anemic and lacking any body and after \~6 months I ended up selling that amp and moving to the Little Dot.

I love the look (the theme of the series), features, sound quality and price of the Marantz PM6006. It's a heavy unit; very solid and high quality materials. The digital inputs are a blessing and the reason I chose this amp over the more expensive Marantz PM8006.

Very happy with this purchase.

 I connect all my kind of sound card up to that type of thing and I do need an amp, and this is the one I went for arguably a downgrade because my previous amp is a Marantz, seven, zero, zero one. This knife is blunt: it appears. Wow is a Marantz, seven zero one, seven zero zero one, so it's kind of they do Marantz do their amps in kind of like the 6,000 7,000 8,000. They get obviously increasingly more expensive as you go along, and this is the the 6000 range

 The optical, I'm just using an optical lead. It'S a cheap optical Lee, that's held a run of about four meters and it happily does 192 kilohertz. I do not want to do 192 kilohertz, but I tried it and it works with sort of jitter and stutter free, there's, no kind of crackling or anything like that. It works perfectly

So not not like a digital volume control and then we've got bass treble balance, and there is a loudness button on this not used to that source. My budget is <US$4,000. I've listened to three amps in my price range so far (all on the same set of speakers from a dealer):

This was a very bright sounding amp. It was detailed enough and seemed not to roll off the high end, which was nice. The mids seemed to get lost just a little in certain songs, though. The style is *something* and I'm not sure I love it, but it is unique

This was the most "neutral" amp of the three. It's not integrated (so I'd need a preamp) but is least expensive, so that helps. I do like that it was more flat in terms of sound, but it wasn't as engaging as the other two, although that might be by design.

Full tube amp. This was probably the most unique sounding (and highest priced). Very intimate sound that really emphasized the mids without reducing the lows and highs.

Just bought a Samsung HW-S60T Soundbar. It’s pretty decent with the exception of its comically short power cord. I’ve looked around for extensions with no success, whether from Samsung or elsewhere. Anyone have any leads? I’m thinking my next best bet would be to just cut the cord and connect it to a longer cable, but I’ve never soldered wire in my life. Where could I go to get this done professionally? Computer or electronics repair shop?

Ideally, I'd like both the stereo (CD/tape/AM/FM) and my turntable to come out of my Edifier speakers, bypassing the Aiwa's speakers. I understand I need a middleman receiver of some kind, but I don't know what. [The Aiwa only has an aux](https://imgur.com/a/Xj0aUIS), so I worry that if that's how it is connected to the receiver, it won't actually output the CD/tape deck, since [those are different settings.](https://imgur.com/a/NxJWQTn)

I was able to play the U-Turn out of the stereo's AUX setting, but the sound was trash.

Any help is appreciated. In terms of budget I don't really care, I suppose less than $300 would be ideal. But if it perfected the setup so I could listen to CDs, tapes, and records through my speakers, I would splurge.

What's up. I'm looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker and came here for some recs. I have a JBL Pulse 3 right now and I've had it for a while but it doesn't really produce the volume and bass that I'd like from a speaker. I like the lights on the pulse 3 but I would much prefer a speaker with better sound delivery than any type of lights. Although, I do like the size of it. I don't have much of a budget. Any recommendations? Thanks

Onkyo TX-NR656. I'm using it right now with my old   
Boston Acoustics MCS 90 Speakers. I'd like to upgrade my speakers to an Atmos system or just anything for live music and movies. I'm really a newb when it comes to this and am looking at suggestions. I think I want to do floor speakers they just need to be oak in color but I'm flexible. I have been looking at Klipsch R-625FA but I'm not sure what direction I should go in.  My budget is 1000-1500 maybe. I really appreciate any help!

It’s never been more apparent that Google filters it’s results until you try to find an integrated amp under $500. There are 4 brands. No more. No less. 

Anyway, does the technology improve in mid-low level amps enough every year that I can justify spending full price? I feel like the better route is to buy something maybe 4 years old for 30-40% less than it was new but I’m reading about the Cambridge Audio axr100 being this magical amp with sound quality that matches amps at twice its price. But I feel like everyone says that.

Same on the right yet a higher pitch sound at around 850 and 1350 hz.

Anyone know the causes of this kind of stuff

Hey guys I have a Schiit Modi which I currently use as a DAC for my Magni. I am about to purchase a Rega Elax-R for my speakers. My question is if there is a detrimental effect on audio quality if I use the output from the magni as a pre-amp for my Rega. Essentially I would only be doing this so that I dont need to swap out cables behind the dac when I want to swap from headphones to speakers.

I know that the modi is probably not a great DAC for this amp, I'll be upgrading that later. Thanks for the advice.

My question is if there is a detrimental effect on audio quality if I use the output from the magni as a pre-amp for my Rega. Essentially I would only be doing this so that I dont need to swap out cables behind the dac when I want to swap from headphones to speakers.</p>

I am looking for a new (integrated optional) amplifier. Right now I'm using my Onkyo receiver but am looking to move the TV to another room and focus on using this as a listening area. I'm not really interested in a DAC or streaming amp, since I have my own DAC and will be using a dedicated PC to stream.

Current speakers: JBL 590s & JMR Grande Voce

My budget is <US$4,000. I've listened to three amps in my price range so far (all on the same set of speakers from a dealer):

## McIntosh MA252

This was a very bright sounding amp. It was detailed enough and seemed not to roll off the high end, which was nice. The mids seemed to get lost just a little in certain songs, though. The style is *something* and I'm not sure I love it, but it is unique.

## Jadis Orchestra Black

Full tube amp. This was probably the most unique sounding (and highest priced). Very intimate sound that really emphasized the mids without reducing the lows and highs.

## PS Audio Stellar S300

This was the most "neutral" amp of the three. It's not integrated (so I'd need a preamp) but is least expensive, so that helps. I do like that it was more flat in terms of sound, but it wasn't as engaging as the other two, although that might be by design.

Any thoughts of these three? Any others I should be looking at instead? I haven't listened to too many different systems in my time, so this is all new to me.
