Logitech K780 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard vs Razer Pro Type Ultra

The K780 Multi-Device Wireless keyboard is available now for $80. Sarah Tew/CNETSounded interesting, so I called one in to test in advance of its launch. Indeed, the K780 is bigger and while it's pretty slim, it's significantly heavier and sturdier than the K380 and really is designed to be a true desktop keyboard.I like the way the stand has been integrated -- it's hard plastic that's covered with a grippy finish, which helps keep smartphones and tablets from sliding around in the slot

It is solid, it does not bend or flex and typing on it feels substantial. Every keystroke feels like confident and robust and the switches don't have any wiggle to them as some others may. The sound of the keys bottoming out is muted and dependant on how hard you type, but it feels like racking a shotgun. Unsure about that email you're about to send to your boss? Not if you typed it on this thing

I love the idea of having a wireless keyboard at an affordable price point that is hotswap with good build quality to boot. I think this board is a good transition point from a traditional gaming keyboard into something more luxurious and fits the needs of both enthusiasts and people starting their journey into the keyboard scene at a price point that is surprising to the buyer.

For a full size keyboard, it is great that it supports multiple devices like the Logitech, but without true cross platform support, it's just not as strong of a value as the Logitech. The Logitech product is $99-100 and this one is $160 (and seldom goes on sale). It's a mechanical keyboard which is pleasant to type on, but I think your typical Mac user won't think that nor the plush wrist wrest that I'm enjoying right now justifies the $60 price increase. And for many non-Mac OS users, there are other multi device supporting keyboards (both mechanical and membrane) for less

Nice feel, heavy and it’s got a great tablet or phone stand incorporated into it. The only thing I haven’t found on it that I miss is a caps lock light. It flashes a notification on the screen but I am constantly having to check which way the other people who use it or even myself left it the last time it was used. Unhandy feature for passwords and adds some time for me

this keyboard feels very solid and stable, but most of all it feels extremely sophisticated and refined. Very well engineered keyboard. I have been in pursuit of the perfect keyboard for a while now, and have tried many different keyboards over the years. But this one is the right balance of mechanical feel and quiet and restraint sophistication

The keyboard will be practically not used for games at all, it will be used mainly for programming. It would be good if it had a numerical part on the right side (standard) but it is not necessary - it may be tiny/compact. I love the sound of "clicking" but not too much, it shouldn't work like AK47. I am a programmer and I need a comfortable keyboard that I could pack in my backpack

So now you have a mix of blue and yellow shining out from under every key and it just looks a bit muddy and ugly. I know they want to be able to say "our yellow switches" to keep in the parlance of the mechanical keyboard world, but they should have been white or clear. And the LEDs should have been neutral white. EDIT: Software update or something? I can no longer swap my F keys and media keys; the media keys are locked to media keys now and cannot be changed with Synapse software

I downloaded the Unifying app on my surface (which is the device I want it to connect with) and the app cant connect to my keyboard using the receiver. Can someone please help!!

One time during my testing, Synapse 3's battery gauge turned to a red 0% when the keyboard was still about 80% charged, but the glitch never recurred. One quibble that's consistent, though: Synapse obliges you to sign up for a Razer account and contains slightly tacky links to the Razer Store, Razer Gold in-game purchases, and the Razer Silver loyalty rewards program. It's a lot of Razer-flavored push, given that the Pro Type Ultra is a productivity tool. Looking beyond that, though, Synapse 3 is a capable, easy-to-navigate utility
