Logitech G203 vs Logitech MX518

That said, I can't remember a time when a Logitech product disappointed on the tracking front. The G203 Lightsync's proprietary "gaming-grade" sensor tracks at up to 8,000dpi, and, like the Prodigy's, is accurate at up to 200 inches per second. That's in the same ballpark with most modern mice in its class but not groundbreaking.

I had been reluctantly using a G502 Proteus Core for the last couple of years, because I couldn't find anything else to replace my G500 with when it died. I was never really happy with the G502 though, so when I heard they were bringing back the MX518, but with a modern sensor, I jumped on it. It was a day one order for me. Now that I have it I am very happy with it

Due to its smaller size, it's best suited for a fingertip grip, no matter your hand size, though if you have smaller hands, you can also use it comfortably using a claw or palm grip.

It's amazing how that small minor adjustment/asymmetrical curve on the right side of the mouse made a HUGE difference vs mice like the UL/Viper mini when it comes to comfort and grip. The bottomline is, if you do grip the mouse like me, you probably will have a smooth transition to this mouse.

It has a symmetrical, egg-shaped design suitable for left- and right-handed users, especially with a fingertip grip. Despite its low price point, it feels very well-built and solid.

The ergonomics are more suitable for medium to large hands, its definitely a THICC mouse and 100 grams isn't exactly the ideal for FPS but I don't mind it at all since the shape makes up for that. I had no issues adjusting from the 89g G pro going to this. Honestly this is probably going to be my main mouse from now on till I find a better shape but that probably wont happen. Oh man, they really hit home with this mouse. I do love the shape, the excelent build quality, the weight , everything about it, except the feet (i am a bit of nitpicky here). I don't like the skates on this mouse, i don't know why exaclty , it gives me a feeling of scratching even if it doesn't do that. I repeat, i love this mouse and it's plugged right now in the pc

) The new mouse is lighter(not in a good way), has a shorter, noticeably thinner wire, lacks infinite scroll and the material is vastly inferior. Leaving off the 3D 'dimples' must've saved a penny because now the mouse looks, ordinarily plain, like most mice. The sides of the Original had a soft ,almost brushed cloth feel that was/is pleasant to lay hands on but this new iteration has a matte black plastic piece that was roughed up a little

I wish the back skate was larger and more in-line with the size of the front skate. Also the rounding on the skates could be better. If you're picky about mouse feet, this would be a good candidate for aftermarket skates.

When zowie started making smaller mouses i shifted to that, but now that razer came out with the viper and viper mini I'm lovin it. I also purchased the deathadder v2 due to the newer sensor, love it, but now im more shifting to smaller size mouses.

The scroll wheel is very nice. you know you are going to actually scroll with it rather than your finger sliding over the wheel doing nothing. I have not gotten to game with it yet, but can imagine it will do great. If you are looking for a comfortable, well made mouse, this is the one for you!

This mouse is a bit too light for my preferences. I also dislike the build quality of the scroll wheel; it feels flimsy and is too easy to over scroll. I know that may sound ridiculous, but I like my scroll wheels to be a bit a weightier and require more force to move between each discrete position. This just ends up feeling imprecise to me—not that the scroll wheel is actually giving imprecise readings

I have small hands and fingertip-ish grip which is a reason I love the Logitech g203. Just don’t want to spend $120 on a wireless mouse :/

The hump isnt the best but could do. It's overall a better WMO. -Logitech Mx500(mx518): the hump is sweet, the rest is bad, this is how an ergonomic hump can feel better than a symmetrical one, gpw hump feels great but the mx500 feels a bit more natural. Its not perfect though

There’s a DPI button underneath the main clicks which is a downside for me as I don’t like accidentally changing my DPI on my fly and would rather see it moved to the bottom side of the mouse.

What's great about this mouse is that you don't need the software if you just want to use it with the default DPI and button settings. The default settings are fine for me so that's what I did. Other than the bloatware I highly recommend this mouse for gaming and you can turn the DPI down low enough for more precision work too. It's not quite the same as the original MX-518 but it is a suitable upgrade worthy of the name
