All of these are rational choices, but they have real-world consequences on ergonomics. The Magic Keyboard turns the iPad into a great laptop, though one that’s a little heavier and thicker than you might expect. But to me, the whole point of the iPad is that it isn’t a laptop.

Not a big deal but i forget * I'm not sure the price justifies all the above. I'm not going to return this any time soon, but the next time i get a keyboard i'm going to pay a lot closer attention to the above preferences.

I'm used to Apple's accessories being a little overpriced but this product is way too expensive for what you get. I would not recommend it for the full $300 at all. I personally got it on sale for $200 and I feel that's what I would have expected it to be in the first place (Still overpriced, but not nearly as ridiculous). I think the biggest problem with this product is that it's not the most versatile

The board is well-built and features negative angled feet as well. It features typical scissor switches, which are very similar to the Apple Magic Keyboard 2017 or the Logitech MX Keys.

Ever since picking up the magic keyboard I have been using my iPad Air as my mobile daily driver for work/school and rarely feel the need to pull my laptop out anymore. The build quality is excellent, keyboard is satisfying to type on, and trackpad support in iOS is excellent. The balance of the keyboard is such that you never feel at risk of the iPad tipping when docked and the whole system just functions so intuitively. Docking and undocking is a breeze thanks to the magnets and smart connector on the back of the iPad, keyboard backlight adjusts automatically based on the iPad brightness settings, usb power pass-through makes the system easy to charge and have an extra USB port for connections, etc

For me, I suspect that perception stemmed largely from the fact that I needed more space on either side since my arms would approach the board at an angle, rather than straight on.

This would be the best iPad keyboard if it could just flip so that the iPad could be open and flat. I switched over from the Logitech keyboard which I loved until it died and their customer service ghosted me. This keypad has been super reliable! Never once had connection issues! But I really need it to be able to fold so that I can write on my iPad while it sits flat. I did not realize this product does not allow for that or else I would not have purchased

This is a vastly superior experience from a typing standpoint. The backlight was important to me and the trackpad is a very nice addition, although I still find myself using the touchscreen more. The fact that this is powered by the iPad with pass through charging is incredible, leaving my USB-C port for dongles and storage if needed. I do lament the lack of inclusion of an Apple Pencil holder, as something that costs $300 should have a safe way of holding onto this
