My sixth-grader wanted a basic black backpack that would hold all her books/essentials since they don’t have lockers. She chose this backpack and was excited when it arrived. She immediately filled it with everything she needed for school only to realize she couldn’t zip it closed because the zipper had been sewn to the backpack and could not be moved.

 Of course, the color of this backpack is deep forest just for reference, but you may find that the image on the camera can vary the color a little bit. The shoulder straps are adjustable as I mentioned, and there is also a feature that lets you strap them down to the shoulder strap top when they are not in use, but I did find this feature pretty unnecessary for a day pack, so I kind of don't find myself using this quite often, but I see that there is a use on this when you're using this backpack as a day pack or as an additional bag if needed. The comfortable carry is also improved by the backpack panel on this pack. The clam shell opening on this compartment comes in super handy

 The accessibility here is a big advantage because the laptop compartment is separate to the rest of the pack so there's no need to empty anything before taking out your computer. You can also use this compartment for documents books that you want to access quickly while you are on the go. It is important to note that this laptop pocket will only host a 17 inch laptop, which is pretty fair big. The 17-inch probably the biggest laptop size that I know

 I’m very picky about backpack straps- many feel too big, padded, and awkward on my small frame. But the original 13in Kanken straps are too thin for carrying heavy Dell laptops. These straps are perfectly padded but not too bulky. I wish there were some more pockets for organization, but I ended up buying pouches to organize my stuff within the bag which is ok

I'm going to try to fit my computer and as you can see it does fit. I am able to put a case in my computer and still fit it in here so that's great but it is a little bit tight

 Here is me putting on a notebook and as you can see there's no problem with that. So this is a really good size for me and I do recommend the size but there is one problem which are the water bottle pockets. They are extremely tight and they do not feed many water bottles and if you can't fit your bottom there, this takes up space of the interior of the bag. I don't know how to explain this better but once you put something it will take a little bit of the capacity of the interior just because of the way in which the pocket is built

 now. all of these bags come with this and if you get it, please don't throw it away. It will give your bag a lot more structure when wearing and it will also make it a lot more comfortable for you to wear it, especially when you're carrying a lot of things or maybe things that have irregular surfaces because we just make the back part a lot more comfortable. And also if you have thrown it away, I believe you can buy it again in the store, but once again you will have to put more money into this and it is already a bag on the pricier side

HONEST FJALLRAVEN KANKEN bag review | Is it worth the money?

My one very minor complaint is that the zippers are kind of difficult to zip or unzip. Otherwise, I would recommend this bag to anyone that is looking for a casual, practical backpack for travel/work.

This backpack was much bigger than expected. I was looking for a backpack that carried a lot for college, but when filled to capacity, it was HUGE on my back! It all depends on what you are looking for personally, but just be mindful of the measurements and size! Very good quality, though.
