 they have maybe to have light blue, green, red, pink and orange I believe. So they do have a lot of different colors for the trims. Option to kind of design your own tote so you can pick this color this white color. If you think this is too light, you can pick a different color, you can pick the handle color and then there's also an option for like a front pocket which is like a little open pocket where you can fit maybe your badge or something

 so I decided to get the LL Bean boat and tote and mine is with the long handle down the back. you can see this is a pretty good drop. I don't remember the exact length of the drop but it's actually a very good sized drop so that it fits comfortably over the shoulder and mine is the medium size. Let me move it back so you can sort of see I am 5/3 so I'm quite small I actually got the peak one first and it was like just way too large for me and I exchanged for the medium which I feel like is a very good size and I did get the one with the zipper on the top because I feel like for any bag I really need the zipper I just don't want to have a open-toed at all

 The bag is just one big space which is okay with me because I'm mostly going to be putting my books and binders and stuff and um of course it. This is a nice enough bag, and the fabric seems to be very sturdy, but it is not the size indicated. The measurements state that it is 20 inches wide, but that is if the bag is laid flat. With the squared bottom, it is only twelve inches wide.

  However, I'm 5'5" and average weight and this bag didn't ride on my frame well. Even with the main strap almost all the way tightened and the stability strap buckled, it still rode down to and past my waistline. This was uncomfortable as it pushed down on the back of my belt/pants. My 2 strap packs can do this too, but I can hoist them up higher to overcome it

  Being of smaller frame, when slung around to the front with a decent load in it, it felt too big to easily access things. I felt like I was hugging a giant pillow or something. Also, when the Macbook Pro was loaded in, there was always a bend out at the top where the pack and my back didn't stay in contact. This may not happen without a stiff object like a laptop stiffening up the back plane of the pack

 Another grab handle here on the side, nice padded back. The shoulder strap has got lots of padding on it. Let'S get some measurements. This thing is about 18 inches long

 I want to strap a kitchen sink to it to it. Then I should then the webbing should be there for me to be able to rig something up to bungee cord it down, strap it down, superglue it down whatever it is, but without webbing it's a little difficult to do that. What up whenever I first got this pack, I had plans on attaching a like a sleeping bag or a bed roll on the bottom of it, and without the webbing, it's gon na be a little difficult to do that. I hadn't intended just to take a fleece sleeping bag and being able to strap it right to the bottom of the pack now see that that's good at a proportion, the steepness fleece sleeping bag this is doubled over, does not stick out too far past the size Of the pack, so if I had some webbing right there and you stop this zipper up in here right there and then in that tangent line or where the middle of the arc right there say right there just stop, stop the zipper right there and the tangent Line free other that don't know what a tangent line is it's where a straight line, intersects circle or intersection arc, that's the tangent line

 You don't to be digging through the main compartment of your pack whenever it comes time to fill up your water bottle, let's open up this main compartment and take a look at it that notice that the zipper stops even with the strap opens up nicely. So you get access to your stuff. I'Ve got my rain poncho right there. Sometimes during here in East Texas, we get a lot of thermal cooling thunderstorms or where it gets real hot during the day and a thunderstorm erupted without little almost little to no notice

 Let'S measure to the outside of the water bottle, say about 14 inches wide and count 8 about 8 or so inches 8 and 1/2 inches deep. You 

Survival Gear - Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger Part 1

 Have your laptop and it's going to fit in there very nicely mine is a MacBook, and it fits in there perfectly without a little bit of loop area. Bear that actually gives it a little bit of a padding and protects it from other items that might be in your bag. One of the other neat features is that you can actually lock some of these zippers into place. You'Ve actually got this web here that snaps into place so that somebody coming up behind you will have a hard time, unzipping bag and getting into your bag

 You also got a little d-ring here that you can use to attach more things and one there as well as we reattach the Y strap I've found out that you can also use that Y strap to compress even more to the outside of your pack. So that's a really nice way to attach some large items to the back of the house out of your pack and really expand your capabilities with this thing. So far, we've only talked about the EDC capabilities of this bag. So let's talk about how it fares as an outdoor pack for hiking for doing a little bit of outdoor activities with your kids, it's kind of stuff I've been using it for how does it hold up? How does it do? Is it comfortable as a hiking backpack? Let'S talk about it

 If ever you feel that the one strap system is not giving you enough support you've actually got another option here down here at the base on this side, you can actually pull out this little strap. That will hide away in there and snap it into here. You'Ve got that much more support to keep it steady on your back, keep it in one place, stop it from swiveling and moving around, and that could be a lot more comfortable, a lot more supportive. So there's a good option also

 So how does it do for hiking? How does it do for hiking? It'S not ideal, but it works. I think the best thing that technology has come up with so far is two shoulder straps with a compression here, and perhaps a waist belt right here, nice and padded to really get that weight on your hips, not so much on your shoulders. That'S the best. I think technology's come up with at this point

Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger: One Bag to Rule Them All...

 As mentioned the bag does not carry heavy weights well. When hiking I find all of the weight rests on one shoulder or the bag shifts a lot. After a few miles this gets to be a pain. Loading supplies in the bottom of the bag helps

 I carry a 3 litre bladder (not included in purchase). The bag does not carry heavy weights well. The strap sometimes chokes me and sometimes slips off my shoulder. When the hydration bladder is full, the pack becomes cumbersome

 it's a sling bag that can only be worn over the left shoulder, no one in their right mind would even consider using this bag in a situation where they would need a water bladder.  I would really like to see Maxpedition's justifications on some of their design concepts on this bag because it just makes no sense. It's too big to be an EDC bag. It's poorly designed for a BoB or 72 hour bag

  On top of those issues, this bag is massive. I have an older Maxpedition Condor II that I use for camping and packing personal items for trips. It's a sizable backpack that came with a full strap system including a waist belt and chest strap to relieve the weight on the shoulders. The Condor will hold 5 days worth of clothes and other items I might need when away from home and when fully packed is weighty even with the double straps

 It's too big to be an EDC bag. It's poorly designed for a BoB or 72 hour bag. It's restricted to right handed users. The size seems aimed at students and workers who need to carry a large laptop, but it's too strongly slanted to some weird form of CCW quick draw to truly suit a standard user

Possibly the worst thought out design I've ever encountered

 This feature makes the Kodiak be an EXCELLENT travel or commuting pack. If you travel by bus or train, you can simply sling it across your chest and sit down on the bench without having to worry about your stuff. It makes for good airplane carry on as well for the same reasons.  The Kodiak is large enough to fit most laptops

My old 15" laptop would not fit in a Sitka or Malaga, but the Kodiak is just wide enough that it will fit behind the inner panel. It barely fits due to the plastic buckle's attachment strap, but it does fit with no real issues

 Because of its size, it's pretty easy to put too much stuff into this bag. If you want to use this to replace a school backpack or a day bag, it's not going to work since all of the weight will be focused on a single point. I'll discuss some workarounds later.  Second, the water bottle holder is located in an awkward spot

  Now, the real question who would want this bag and what are the pros and cons of it?  Well, it's well made as many people know, so I won't talk about that, however it's important to understand what this bag is all about. The Kodiak Gearslinger is not designed for heavy hikes or long hikes, it's better suited for people who want something they can take on and off quickly. This comes in handy when shopping, on the bus, or on the subway. Before using the Kodiak, I was using aMaxpedition Falcon-II Backpack 

First I want to say, I bought a black Kodiak from Amazon Warehouse Deals for $115, listed as Like New. It arrived promptly and sure enough it was like new, so I'm very pleased with that.  Now, the real question who would want this bag and what are the pros and cons of it?  Well, it's well made as many people know, so I won't talk about that, however it's important to understand what this bag is all about. The Kodiak Gearslinger is not designed for heavy hikes or long hikes, it's better suited for people who want something they can take on and off quickly

. but the shoulder strap Duraflex buckle has broken on my Kodiak purchased in 2012 and not seen heavy use. Maxpedition is "out of stock" for this buckle of any color. Without the use of the shoulder strap the Kodiak is no longer hands free
