LG C2 OLED TV Review - Should you buy it?

 Hi, I'm Nicholas from Ratings.com. Today we'll be doing a review of the LG C2 OLED.

 We'll be evaluating it on our standardized test bench to see how it performs and if you should buy it.

 We bought and tested the 65-inch model and we expect the other sizes to perform similarly.

 This TV is the successor to the popular LG C1. It sits between the LG G2 and the B2

 and LG's 2022 OLED lineup. The LG C2 is redesigned compared to last year's C1.

 The metal is silver now and the part where the inputs are doesn't take up the whole bottom

 half of the TV. The panel itself is extremely thin and the borders are even smaller this year.

 It doesn't have the same gallery design as the LG G2 so it won't sit flush against the wall if

 you wall mount it. Unlike the G2, this one actually comes with a stand. It has a smaller

 footprint than the stand on the previous C series models. This means there's noticeable wobble and

 it doesn't support the TV well. That said, it's only a problem if you need to constantly move the

 TV around and it won't fall if you just leave it in the same place. The stand only raises the

 screen about 2 inches off the table so placing a big soundbar in front might block the screen.

 The inputs face to the side so they're easy to access with the TV wall mounted.

 However, the power cable comes out the back. There are also clips to help you route your

 cables to the inputs to help keep your setup clean. Speaking of the inputs, it comes with

 4 HDMI ports that each have HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. This is great for console gamers. There's also

 an eARC port so you can connect the receiver and pass lossless Dolby Atmos audio, but it doesn't

 support DTS or DTSX signals. Many Blu-rays support DTS or DTSX, so you'll need to connect your

 Blu-ray player directly to the receiver to get the best sound possible. The TV's build quality is

 incredible, which is what you expect from a high-end model. The metal feels premium and the back panel

 C1 had just okay SDR peak brightness, the C2 has a big improvement in this area. It has good peak

 of bright colors are dimmer due to its automatic brightness limiter. This means that the screen

 doesn't look as bright if you're using it as a PC monitor or watching some sports like hockey.

 It also has good peak brightness in HDR, which is enough to make small highlights stand out.

 Like in SDR, larger areas are still dim, so it performs best when there are small,

 bright objects on the screen. Overall, while it's not as bright as the G2, it's still an improvement

 over the C1, and you'll get a satisfying HDR experience. Good reflection handling is also

 important for a bright room. The LG C2 has incredible reflection handling, and it handles

 even strong light sources well. However, like with the G2, strong light sources result in a purple

 tint, and that's because of the anti-reflective coating. Regardless, combined with the good peak

 brightness, you won't have many issues with it in a bright room. If you have a wide seating arrangement

 or like to watch TV with family and friends, then a good viewing angle helps make sure no one sees

 washed out colors or crushed details. Luckily, it has a very wide viewing angle, so the image looks

 the same whether you're watching from directly in front or from the sides. This makes it a great

 choice for wide seating areas. An overall uniform screen brightness and color is important when

 watching sports or playing video games to avoid the appearance of clouding known as dirty screen

 effect. The LG C2 has excellent overall gray uniformity, but it's not perfect. Sadly, there's

 a pink tint on both sides of the screen. This seems to be a common issue with LG's new OLED panels,

 as we also saw it with the G2. However, it doesn't have the Venetian blind effect, and there aren't

 any issues with a grid-like pattern that was noticeable on past OLEDs. There are some very

 faint vertical lines that you see in near-dark images, which is typical of OLEDs, but you only
