 As an experiment we used it for a tank full in another room all day with little interference from currents or people walking by with the warm mist. It was much more effective and consistent in this decent sized room and agreed with the hygrometer 90% of the time. However, when I walked by, opened the garage entry door (12 feet away) or did activity behind the unit (reading newspaper, sitting up and down, etc), it did the same inaccurate and fluctuating humidity detection causing the unit to not achieve the desired level. And as mentioned the unit can 360 direct mist, but the left front is where the humidistat is and that's not a good place to direct it

 We wanted warm mist functionality and only warm (for a bedroom) and so we are returning it for that reason.

 Then the humidity % drops enough to kick back on and we start over. This all is highly susceptible to air currents and even people coming near or walking by. Yes, the unit turns back on within a minute because the humidity level drops (to where it should be), but this can't be efficient operation in terms of energy and water usage. Maybe because the humidistat is at the front left side of the unit

 We never experienced the steam being too hot to burn us nor did we notice any water accumulation around the unit. One last thing, the cool mist was only tested a little as we wanted warm mist. We believe the cool mist had a better chance due to not using as much water and the mist didn't seem to be as disruptive in the humidity level. However, this was only a short test of the unit as the beginning and was not tested further in any detail so keep that in mind

I still miss my good old Air-o-swiss… It does a good job with keeping the moisture in my bedroom. It is quiet in cool mist mode, a bit noticeable sound when in warm mist mode. Cleaning is not hard but there is a lot of parts and a bit annoying to put everything apart and get to all nooks and crannies . If I may suggest… get yourself a round soft brush with long handle- kinda like to clean toilets but in kitchen section

Nice humidifier but…

 We spent a week coming up with products on amazon, but we never settled on any. On a whim, I purchased this one and got it next day (I'm a Prime member). I had stocked up on distilled water for this little guy prior to it arriving, so we could get it set up and running as soon as it came in.  Opening the package I was impressed, the product was very well packaged and came with a buttload of instructions and filters for essential oils (which we wont use)

 It really helps during Santa Anna conditions when outdoor RH is <10%. Cool mist output = 250ml/hr max Cool + Warm = 500ml/hr max  We have VERY VERY hard water. If we use tap water in a humidifier the air gets visibly foggy/hazy from the suspended minerals in the air, so we use our reverse osmosis system to fill the tank.

  Cons: • Removable nozzle piece is a little annoying to remove - if you don’t have finger nails you may struggle. • Mist output doesn’t have a lot of oomph behind it so it doesn’t go far on its own - we have ours under a ceiling fan to help disperse the vapor.  Eh 🤷🏻‍♀️: • Remote - no use for us. • Power cord could be a little longer

 The tank is pretty large and holds a good amount of water. Reached a dry season where I live and wanted a quick fix. However, humidity can vary almost week to week and decided to splurge a bit more for a humidifier that can start/stop based on the current humidity read. The auto mode on this humidifier is awesome for that. You set a target humidity and the misting only starts once the current room humidity has dropped 5% below that (and stops misting when approaching 5% above)

 So i'll put it on like so all right and let's put some water in filling up one gallon tank. This does a room nicely um, as i said before, i'm from using this again, because my new furnace that i bought is kind of powerful and it really dries out the room. It doesn't have a humidifier, and i remember i had this, so i decided to basically put it together again and start using it. So i think that's enough water put this over here, so [, Music, ] and that's what it looks like almost all filled up

How to operate the Honeywell Designer Series Cool Mist Humidifier

Bought this because of the size (much smaller than the other Honeywells) but the machine makes a lot of water splashing noise throughout the night. Shortly after I bought this one, we bought a Levoit humidifier that is cheaper, quieter (no water noises), and easier to use (too fills so no spilling when picking the tank up or putting it in place). I would not recommend this product and would opt for the Levoit one if I could!

Decent product but wouldn’t recommend

 It's super easy. And with these units, SUPER important, as everything in the water tank turns into tiny particles and goes out into your air. Just move the entire unit to a bathroom or kitchen counter. Measure out 2 cups of distilled vinegar, and let it soak in the unit for 20 minutes (instructions included)

  I have read that this white dust can be harmful to breathe. I don't want to take chances with it. I could get a ZERO water filter, but I decided to try an evaporative humidifier instead.  CLEANING

 If you have the speed up on 3 or 4, I'd have a fan on low. This worked for me in keeping the condensation build up from happening around the machine. You'll also want a hygrometer of course to keep track of the humidity levels. Anything above 60% can cause problems

 Dr. Mercola has an article recommending not going over 45% in order to reduce the risk of mold and fungus build up.  Overall, unless you're using distilled water and are diligently cleaning the unit every week, I recommend an evaporative humidifier instead.  I hope this helps! Figuring out humidifiers can be a little overwhelming when you're new to it!

 Okay, so we're all ready for that. So, let's clean the tank, let's take the top off, and this here is a couple of cups. You can use a cup and a half two cups of vinegar, let's pour it in the tank like so. Okay, let's put the cap back on now the sweet smell of vinegar, but we're going to get rid of this uh mineral deposit here so switch it around a bit like so make sure it's all nice and squishy inside every place gets coated and then we're going To put it back in the reservoir like, so let it do its thing for about 20 minutes

 Take a little rag, i'm right in here. If you can see right in there, i'm going to kind of mop around not too hard because some sensitive parts in here not too hard, okay and try and get anything else. I don't see any floaties one more sniff test, i don't smell any vinegar clean her up good and this baby is ready to be put back together. Okay, so we can't forget the essential oil tray

 Let'S pull this baby out! It'S been 20 minutes and now we're going to get the sweet smell of vinegar out of the tank here. Let'S pour into the sink, and let's get some water put that there for now i'm a little bit sloppy when it comes to cleaning. But let's get some water in here and swish around until we get rid of the sweet smell of vinegar. Okay pop that open pour it out

 Oh my god, that's the best smell, no more smell of vinegar. That'S pretty quick! Let'S do the cap here, okay, okay, back on and that's ready and it's time to clean the reservoir. So you can see it's a little bit of water in there, okay and like once again the little arrow pointing that's where you pour any liquids out because they say they don't want uh you're pouring it out this side, some might leak into the control panel. Here it probably won't, but they won't take any chances
