Levoit Core 400S vs Coway Airmega 400 S Air Purifier

We don't have any pets and clean the house once a month. Will our air purifier not help if our PM2.5 is already low?

You only have to replace it to just because of the size of the filter once every year, maybe even longer, depending on the pollution level of the air ...

Now, I wasn’t here to review Coway at all, but I couldn't give a review of Levoit's air purifier without comparing the two. Looking at other people's reviews about how Levoit's air purifier helped with their allergies and such though, made me feel like either I got a defective device from Levoit, or our allergies are actually much more severe than the regular folks with allergies. Anyways, given that Levoit gave me no relief from my somewhat allergies in comparison to the other brand that I bought and tried at the same time, I will admit that I would probably not buy Levoit’s purifiers for myself ever again. If I had a friend that just needed something to keep the air clean and somewhat help with odors, AND really wanted one that’s Wifi-enabled, I’d definitely recommend this though

After settling on a Coway AP-1512HH Air Purifier (Found Here ) in our master bedroom - I was completely shocked at the difference it made to my seasonal cedar allergies! For the first time in a decade, I wake up feeling completely symptom free every day - which makes that purifier worth every penny. As I was looking for a filter to cover our main living area, I realized the Coway wasn't going to offer nearly enough coverage - so I decided to take a chance on the 400S, even though it was significantly higher cost. My wife has allergies which makes her life miserable at times, so we were looking for something to help with that. It's always hard to tell just how much of a difference these make, but I do like it. We turn it up a bit at night for the white noise and increase air filtration. We have an older competitors brand that seems to register the air quality as worse when the dogs walk by as opposed to the new one makes very little change

My older purifier (2019) is a Bissell Air 220 which I have moved to the basement. This unit is remarkably louder but the loudness is more of a white noise and over time you don’t even hear it. It’s louder but a more pleasant frequency.

I had gotten this unit during Prime Day and on impulse doing quick reviews on different brands before settling on this one. I got it for the bedroom and it is performing better than I had anticipated. The noise generated from the unit is not that high. I had hope it would run totally silent, (its not) but the air flow sound is not as high as one would expect

I have run it on medium or high mode most of the time, and it still seems to be cleaning the room but doesn't seem to be pushing air as hard as it used it. The noise is loud enough that it makes it difficult to fall asleep if it's in anything besides the lowest/standby mode. I have over 60% life left of my main filters (for reference of use). Contacting support in hopes that they will provide assistance, and reducing my rating to 2* due to issues

It mostly does the job we need it to. The app is very handy and useful. The purifier seemed to work really well to eliminate odors the first day we had it but doesn’t seem to do as good of a job now about a week later.

The sensor default setting is pretty good. To confirm it does work, various air pollutants was purposely blew right at the sensor, such as vape, smoke, smoky oil. It does take 1 to 2 second for the sensor to detect it and the fan ramps to HIGH.

I got this air purifier during the pandemic and I am so happy with it. It is easy to use and it makes my room feel so much cleaner. It’s pretty quiet and I leave it on all day! I definitely recommend getting an air purifier like this especially for an office or if you live with multiple people.

Overall, I like the unit because it does what I need; Cleans the air VERY well and has a programmable schedule, and it super quite, and looks cool to boot too!

I’m not sure that is very accurate. I’m not going to reduce my rating based on the fancy sensor number and color that don’t seem to be valid. I’m going to see how well it works. The instructions say to remove the filter every couple weeks and vacuum or brush any large debris that might collect on it

•Replacement filters cost a small fortune. I still went with this device because you can clean and reuse the filters so they last longer. •UPDATE: You are supposed to be able to wash the filters, but in my experience if you get any amount of water on the edges of the filters then they will deteriorate and leave black stains while drying out. Dropped a star because of this as it removes significant time from the useful life of the filter
