 Aside from this, the knives are very tough. The locking mechanism seems to be the only weak spot.  I highly recommend this product.

It's soft and will age well after continue care and applying leather conditioner oil.  The handle seems very strong, tightly grained hickory with excellent orientation.  I find working with it to be pure joy. I'll grant that it is expensive, but in this case I think you get what you pay for. I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Great Little Axe

 I use this ax nearly every single day. It’s an ideal size for having near a wood stove or furnace. I have mine in a small corridor next to my wood stove that’s used to hold wood pre-burn. The ceiling is low (about 6’4”) due to ductwork

 If you’re looking for something that you can handle and will occasionally split small amounts of timber you’ll want this. Worth every penny.

I contacted both Kenco and Gransfors in order to remedy this situation but have not heard from them in over 9 days. This is truly unfortunate because, though my experience with Gransfors has been positive thus far, I'm left wondering if this was a vendor issue or if it was manufactured incorrectly. Regardless, the premium price that Gransfors Bruk charges for their axes leaves one hoping that a quality issue such as this would not be overlooked
