  I'll probably forget to update this review down the line if my feelings change, but if it's anything like the last laptop I had, I'll probably bump it up a star or two based on longevity.

 The cool thing about it is that it charges very quickly.  Wifi works fine and it comes with a ethernet cord slot when you need it. Video quality is good and refresh rate is adequate.  Form Factor is strange as the GTX 1660ti pushes past the hinge of the screen, so you have the fans and video components jut out about an inch from where the base of the screen rests

Nice Entry-level Gaming Laptop with "meh" Battery Life and Annoying Lenovo Bloatware Installed

 The right USB does this less so I use that one. I haven't done any heavy gaming yet so I can't attest to its performance there yet, but so far the airflow during heavy usage seems good and the keyboard is very decent. Also, the webcam has a built-in manual slider to block/unblock it which was a cool bonus.

This is my 3rd Legion 5 laptop. I got the 1st one from Walmart with the following specs: 4600H Ryzen 5, 120HZ 250 nits screen, 256 GB SSD + 1TB HDD, and only a GTX 1650ti. My 2nd was the same but a slightly cheaper price when it was on sale from Lenovo which featured the same screen, GTX 1650, and 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD . I decided to get this from Amazon since it has a GTX 1660ti and a better screen with 144hz and 300 nits brightness

  As from my screenshots, the Lenovo Vantage software is a simple software to tweak your laptop and it features overclocking your GPU, only when performance mode is enabled. You can also choose to overdrive the screen response time which videos from Jarrod's tech shows the difference and I would recommend turning this feature on.  The screen also has a yellowish tint to it when white is displayed on the screen, a slight annoyance that I manage to fix within the Radeon settings with the color settings. The screen is sorta usable outdoors

Either way, keeping the laptop cool enough will help protect all other components and should keep the machine running well for years longer. -Webcam and mic quality shouldn't be deciding factors as quality USB or bluetooth ones are rather inexpensive and readily available.

Please help me choose between ASUS,dell,HP and Lenovo

 Using it as my daily driver with an office workload on Asus’ Silent profile around 200 nits of brightness, I averaged eight hours and 32 minutes. That’s just under what I got from the G14, and the G15 has a larger and higher-resolution screen to fuel. The result puts the G15 right up there with its smaller sibling as one of the longest-lasting gaming laptops we’ve ever seen. It has a large 90Wh battery inside, but plenty of gaming rigs with comparable bricks can only make it a few hours on a charge

99 or 32GB of RAM for $2,499.99. (I think my test model hits a sweet spot: 512GB of storage isn’t a lot for a gaming laptop, and it seems like the RTX 3080 models are fairly low-clocked and don’t perform hugely better than the lower-tier options.) 

Gaming significantly shortens the G15’s life span, of course. I got an hour and 21 minutes of Red Dead out of one charge. Impressively, though, the game was quite playable for much of that time, avoiding stutters and performance issues. The game didn’t drop below playable rates until the G15 was down to 10 percent with six minutes remaining

I did something like what you're talking about and bought an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 to use as a portable workstation, it's probably more machine than I need right now and assuming it holds up I can't see having any performance problems with it for years. I don't do much gaming (if any) but the performance is hugely helpful for large software compiles and accelerated photo and video editing. Look at the slim design gaming laptops if you haven't yet, mine is a 15.6" machine and weighs just over 4lb (~<2kg,) it's amazingly portable considering how much performance it's capable of

Hi guys, I have to start high school and I was planning to buy an Hp probook x360 435 G7 with Ryzen 7 4700u and 16 GB of RAM (expandable to 32). I'm going to use if for everything :light gaming, school and video editing.

I want to keep it for 4-5 years so I have to be sure the Ryzen 7 4700U can keep up with demanding programs even in the future, i dont know but i may have to use programs like CAD in the future.

So, i also thought about buying a non 2 in 1 laptop, to get a dedicated graphics card like the MX450 which would give me a good performance boost (20-30 fps more than Vega 7)but  a GTX graphics card will raise the cost  almost 2000 dollars in a normal laptop , i also thought about a gaming laptop, but they generally have poor battery life and are bulkier (even tough i wont have to transport my laptop often) and they are probably overkill, because, at least for now, i only play minecraft. But nobody knows what programs future me is going to  throw at that poor laptop ( i would like to learn programming maybe).

But i find 2 in 1 laptops very convenient and leaving that sounds difficult for me, I'm not sure about the idea of buying an external tablet.

Is a Ryzen 7 4700U laptop good for future proofing?
