Lenovo Legion 5 pro RTX 3070: $1959, Needs new RAM for best performance. With a 32GB RAM it costs ~$2130.

My personal list of best gaming laptops in various categories. Hopefully it’s helpful for those looking for a new laptop this year.

The L5P has already reduced in price in less than a week imagine where it will be after a month or two. Also availability will definitely improve as lenovo hopes to sell as much units as possible especially in the us & other american/european countries to equal the hype that has surrounded their gaming laptop line for 2021.

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T PURCHASE THE LEGION 5 PRO (L5P) NOW

 Its not functional. There are tons of dead spots on it plus it ghost registers 1 sometimes 2 finger inputs. I love this laptop but theres no permanent fix for the trackpad which makes the laptop underperform. Sadly im returning it this week

Run all games nicely on ultra settings. Fans keep relatively quiet to other gaming laptops. Decent thermals comparatively to other laptops.

 Sure the computer comes with the correct GPU and CPU. The description says it is at 3200mhz which it is actually at 2667mhz see screenshots. Not only that but I only got 32gbs of ram compared to the 64gbs I paid for. On top of that you remember the laptop saying 165hz refresh rate? That's actually an April Fools joke as well because both the windows setting and nvidia control panel both have it locked at 60hz and CANNOT be changed

I bought the 64gb ram with 2tb edition. Got the computer today and wanted to check to make sure I got everything I paid for. Sure the computer comes with the correct GPU and CPU. The description says it is at 3200mhz which it is actually at 2667mhz see screenshots

 Also, checked the computer for updates and to make sure everything was up to date. There is this odd issue where I cannot update the graphics card for some reason attached a screenshot, I keep getting this error.

Gigabyte’s Aero series laptops have been my go-to for a few years for people that do a mixture of content creation and gaming, so let’s check out the differences in the new 2021 Aero 15 and see what improvements have been made..  Like Previous Aero models, unfortunately, secondary key functions are not illuminated, I Really hope this is something they improve for the upcoming 11th gen version. What I Found interesting here was that it’s still outperforming the similar wattage 3080 in the XMG Pro 17 just below it with the same processor, So just goes to show that in some games the difference between a 3070 and 3080 isn’t going to be worth the extra price, it all comes down to the power limits. I’ve also tested the Aero in 14 different games in this video over here,, so check that one out if you want to get a better idea of how this laptop performs in games.

 Now For the benchmarking tools,, I’ve tested Heaven, Valley, and Superposition from Unigine, as well as Firestrike, Timespy and Port Royal from 3DMark,. Just pause the video if you want a detailed look at these results. Adobe Premiere was tested with the Puget Systems benchmark. They Recently updated this test, so results are not comparable to my previous videos, and as a result I’ve got less data to show, but out of the laptop selection, I have tested it’s doing alright, granted performance is in between two 4800H plus 1660 Ti machines
