Very heavy product to be taking on backpacking trips.  All the tools were definitely not needed.  Weight of item is very heavy and if attached to belt can be troublesome.  Better off just having a survival knife rather than taking a whole toolbox with you

 Surely the materials of the tools are made of some high-grade steel and have a lower degree of oxidation resistance, right? Whatever, nothing is perfect. It's probably a marketing ploy where just the case is stainless so they can claim so in the title.  Except were far from perfect here. Looking for more rust, I spot it on the frame as well

NOT stainless, NOT what you expect from Leatherman

 I snapped one of the blades on my beloved SAK years ago (as I would later learn, SAK blades are much softer steel than most knives) and they wanted the price of the knife just to fix it. No thank you.  Stay American made, get a Leatherman. Get the Super Tool 300 unless you absolutely need instant access to the blades

  This all being said, this is a great tool and recommended as an EDC (every day carry). Much tougher and more durable than a Swiss Army Knife (don't waste your time with these, Victorinox fans are either pansies or just don't know any better). The only advantage you'll find on a SAK is the bottle opener. You'll be much happier going American made with the Leatherman

 This thing is ridiculously heavy and cumbersome especially in the stupid sheath. It feels like carrying around a small brick.

 It was loose and the two handles would rattle and open quite freely especially in the sheath. How utterly annoying.

 This is a really bad sheath guys, not a good design. The sheath will only fit a narrow belt. The sheath is a poor design for outdoor activity and EDC (forget about that). If I was in the Army I'd forget about it otherwise you're gonna look and your tool will be gone

 The sheath that I received with my tool is to bulky and after it gets loosened up I have heard it will not retain you tool very well which means you have the potential to lose your tool. I highly suggest buying a separate sheath. I would suggest the LARGE MOLLE SHEATH that Leatherman makes and ships with some of there Military tools. You can buy it directly form Leatherman for $15 +shipping but i'm sure you could find it on Amazon as well

 The first thing I did was open the tool up to see the pliers. They are quite robust and I am very pleased with the heft of them. I also love the replaceable wire cutters. I think Leatherman should start making this standard on all there tools with pliers

 I rather have a "clumping" Super Tool 300 than no 300. This tool is quite large and would for many be to big to carry on a belt every day. I find this more relevant when referring to the sheath that comes with the tool. While I knew what I was getting int he sheath department before I ordered they only provide the Super Tool 300 with two different HORRIBLE sheaths

An average product - but a low price

 The fit and finish of the pliers on the PS4 is perfect, even on this used example. The screwdriver blades are thicker on the PS4 and are machined with crisper lines. The Dime's are slightly thinner and just don't seem like they'd hold up to much use without twisting the tips out of shape. I don't care for the chisel ground blade on the PS4, but I don't really like the slight curved belly on the cutting edge of the Dime either, so that is a tie

 I do like the Dime's package opener blade and its bottle opener is better. The biggest negatives to the Dime for me are the poorly crafted pliers and the useless file which are two key features of any multitool. To me, the Leatherman PS4 Squirt is better even at roughly twice the price of the Gerber Dime.

Not great. Fortunately, for $16 and change, I didn't expect perfection.

 Might work ok if you’ve got a fingernail that’s snagging in something.  The bottle opener doesn’t give you a lot of leverage, but if you’ve ever needed one and not had one, this beats breaking a tooth or the bottle trying to smash it off.  The bottom line is, none of its tools are great - but due to its small size and light weight you can always have it in a pocket. No belt pouches required, no suspicious bulges in your pockets

Pros: small, contains a nice assortment of commonly used tools, cheap, good quality  Cons: not very strong, pliers have limited uses due to weakness  The dime is a much revered, often reviewed mini multi tool. Probably not the best tool for any job, except that you can have it on you at all times. Smaller than a pack of tic-tacs, and so light you won’t even notice it in your pocket.  The screw drivers are basic and meet the bare minimum of being drivers, the Flat head is obviously simpler and works fine

 - Made in China (PS4 is made in USA) - Quality is dodge / hit-n-miss. Pliers is super loose and doesn't align well on my first Dime, and fine on my second. Handle grinding is much worse on my first dime than my second. Spring opens pliers all the way on my first Dime, but not on my second

This is why I always avoid the pliers in all small keychain sized multi-tools. I believe such small pliers are almost practically useless.
