 154CM is about as good as you can get without entering "real pain to sharpen/very expensive" territory, while 420HC is about the lowest quality knife steel even worth considering, and the $15 difference at time of writing this review is absolutely worth it.

Nice, but not as nice as I was hoping and expecting

[URL REMOVED] I personally use an Osprey pack.  Many of them come in at or around 3 pounds, which is acceptable for me.  They are a great price for the quality and lifetime warranty.  

  I don't see a reason to carry both this and the tinder from the Zippo kit at the same time.  Pick one and leave the other.

Are people over "edc'ing" just to please this page? I won't ever understand the carrying of a multi-tool, a sak and a knife. I don't understand "Students" carrying pry bars, knives, and flashlights. I just don't get office workers carrying multi-tools.

Uh, it has this bit driver here and the bit driver is actually it does have the lock for the bit and that's more than can be said for some of the other tools in the Leatherman lineup. So I appreciate that because the bid is basically carried externally

Everybody Nick Here and today a review for you of your Leatherman skeletal CX Um First, I Want to thank my buddy Jim for sending this along. It's a very nice little multi-tool that I really never have quite picked up because well, you know for a long time my everyday carry was actually one of these guys which is a little Leatherman squirt that's been mod beyond recognition. um beyond that I've also you know had a Leatherman Wave that I've loved, then a charge TTI and whatnot. and the skeletal promises to be a lighter weight version of something like your wave that you can really carry every day

 One little nice detail is that there's a washer surrounding the blade that actually stops the lock bar, so this knife can't suffer the liner lock failure. Whether the lock bar goes to the other side of the blade, it's prevented from doing that, which is just a nice little thing. and I'm glad they thought about doing that. That shows somebody at Leatherman is thinking when they're designing this lock and so the lock up is pretty solid and uh, you know, yeah, like I said, one 154cm is good to go

The Leatherman Skeletool CX Multitool: The Full Nick Shabazz Review

 Everything, especially the blade, locks in place when in use and doesn't rattle or play. The steel is very solid, the knife comes extremely sharp and retains its edge for a long time. By the way, in those sad places where they impose a limit on knives, often blades below a certain size are less restricted - I think it's no accident that this one has a blade just below the common 2.5" threshold

 I thought there must surely be a catch, but when I sent my very dirty, partially rusty, dull, poorly reassembled by me tool in for a cleanup, they did a great job fixing it up, making it look like new, and giving the blade an excellent edge. And all for free! All I had to do was print out a warranty form and send the tool in an envelope. This was 3 years after purchase - obviously I haven't really tested the lifetime claim yet, but even 3 years is a lot more than many other companies will give you, and the process was so smooth that it's literally easier for me to send it in than clean or sharpen it myself. And of course they do a better job than I could

It probably seems a bit silly to spend $80 on a pocket knife - I only got my first one because it was my birthday and I figured I'd treat myself. Am I glad to have done that! Unfortunately, that one got lost - when I gave up looking, I re-ordered without thinking. These things are amazing!  This tool is extremely high quality - the feel, the materials, the design, the hinges, everything is so well made it feels like you're holding a piece of art. The weight is just right - not too heavy and not too light, it feels perfect in your hand

 Or a cheaper one that you can't use without breaking if at all. I had the base model Skeletool, used it, loved it, and sadly lost it. Took the opportunity to review my options. Picked the Skeletool CX as it has a better full knife blade- 154CM steel- the only Leatherman with that upgrade- and avoids the half knife/half saw blade of the base model Skeletool

 It would be a long time before it actually clogs up with enough ferrous material where you actually have to clean it out. A lot of people think that this is the new wave or the a new era in multi-tool design. They may very well be right. This might be the stepping stone for what we're going to see in the future in multi-tool designs

 I think the very first thing that jumps out to me is the fact that everything is one-hand accessible. So you can get to your saw. Your knife, blades scissors and all the interior implements with one hand, and that is a huge advantage - that the free, p4 and p2 have over the other styles of multi tools, that no other multi-tool can say that that they offer full one-handed operation. The fact that you can easily open the pliers one hand in and get to every single implement the ergonomics on the Leatherman fre p4 has got to be its biggest advantage

 So there is more to the free P 4 than meets the eye. The final attribute that I think you have to consider when looking at the Leatherman free P 4. Is that, though, it may be difficult for me to admit at times it has a certain level of cool to it. The Leatherman free, P, 4 is a very modern design and the innovation that went in to the engineering behind it is frankly, quite impressive

Leatherman Free P4 Multi-Tool | Review

 The whole magnetic opening thing--which I thought looked gimmicky--is legitimately pretty awesome. A gentle push of the fingertips pushes the handles apart, and from there they swing freely into an open position. Once the handles are fully rotated, they "lock" into place with a satisfying click, and they will stay in pliers-mode until you put a good bit of pressure on them. This is an amazing contrast to the Charge which can be too stiff or too loose, depending on how much you use it

 If you bought one that doesn't have a pocket clip, you can email Leatherman and they'll send you pocket clip for free.  Full Review: The new Free P4 sits between the traditional Wave and Charge TTi in terms of price, but since it's closer to the Charge, I'm going to compare it to that model. I have an older model Charge (without the replaceable wire cutter bits), but I believe this review holds up with the new one.  Ergonomics closed: The P4 is about a 1cm longer than the Charge, maybe 2mms thinner

 I use this tool everyday, neva leave home without it. Love this tool I recommend 💯! Other tools like the plyers on it, greeph, ive twisted the fire out of them and the show absolutely no signs of bending. Hey look at the picture of it i took and see how flexible this dude is. (k when you look at the bend picture there is no bend thats just the point) (; And other tools, like the 1,000,000 other tools on it work awesome too, ill mention this testimony, I literally tried prying door after door open with the smallest flathead screwdriver and bent it several times both directions and it still isn’t broken, now let me be completely honest (; i accidentally bent (not broke) the saw, while sawing like a (bleep) then purposely forcefully broke it

 End of story, Just kidding, i accidentally broke the pocket clip while purposely throwing it against the concrete, but hopped on good ole amazon, Grabbed an aftermarket pocket clip by (Dink!) Never got a blood blister yet. Oh and can open this thing with just one hand! So #hand dee! One last thing to metion is i have a letherman sidekick (ive said enough so im just gunna share a quick warranty testimony) So i have a sidekick and it was my brothers he had it for years and then gave it to me, it was in terrible shape so i sent it in, well they sent me a branspanken new one!!!! To make a long story even longer ill say this, i love leatherman tooooolsss! ~end 😂
