 It did not come with a pocket clip, it did not come with one at all. When I bought this in April of 2019, they were only shipping, the free EP for with the lanyard loop, so one of my first challenges was trying to get a pocket clip. They were like, oh yeah, that'll, be really released a week after the tool to release that was not true. It took like multiple weeks

 I think the Leatherman surged, despite its bigger size and sort of more unwieldly package, even even with its internally accessible tools, I think the Leatherman surge is a far better purchase. Considering that you can get these fully kitted out, you know extra blades, and thus I think you can even get like a bit kit and that would probably cost you 140 bucks. So at the price point and with the current design flaws, the Leatherman free p4 is not worth you money and I'm telling you that, after having it for an entire year, I'm not saying that lightly. I paid full price and my own money for this

 These scissors are sorry about the focus scissors are okay. I I think I would have to say that I prefer the Leatherman Serge and it's probably just because they're a little more comfortable to use, they aren't very much bigger right. These are pretty close to the same size and in terms of like functional cutting edge, they are virtually the same. However, this bigger meteor little spot for your thumb is much more comfortable to use than this littler one on the free, P forth

 Colors, like you, can see, the action is still nice and loose like it should be. Okay, let's take a look at these external tools, knife blade. I actually have no complaints about the knife blade. I think it's great

First impressions- this tool is really beautiful and unique. It feels nice in the hands, it’s nicely balanced when opening it one handed, and the detents are clean and crisp. They even make satisfying sounds when clicking in and out of position. I also really like the feature of side-mounted tools on the outside

Leatherman Charge+ TTI.  $180 for a tool I never once carried because it's too damn big and the s30v blade had lockrock.  Another was the Leatherman Free P4.  Cost almost as much as the Charge TTI, but the toolset was gawdawful

I doubt I am the only who has bought something due to hype thinking I could utilize it on a daily basis just to have it gather dust. 

Maybe it's something you overpaid for, something that turned out to be impractical to EDC due to its size, something that broke quickly, or maybe you just immediately got something better right away. 

Either way I would be interested to hear what you all have to say.

What EDC items do you regret acquiring?

I purchased this tool to give it a try. I’ve carried it for a few days now and while the fit and finish is very good, the tool has issues.  Pros  Fit and finish is excellent.  The pliers are well made and cut hard wire easily

 • Pliers are great, and the mag design works great. THIS I can open and close with one hand. Bravo. I like the replaceable cutter too

 • It's a bit pricey though! I'm not sure if I could recommend this one, especially for the price. Don't get me wrong. IT IS VERY WELL MADE and probably worth every penny, manufacturing-wise. But with the shortcomings mentioned, I feel a little cheated

Definitely a design improvement, but not quite where it needs to be

 In theory I can use the smaller pouch and toss the ratchet into a pocket along side my little flashlight and pen, but typically I find myself using the larger pouch I already owned.  Technically I can squeeze the Free P2, the ratchet, my flashlight, and both flat bit cards into that pouch but then it’s a bit heavy and tough to get anything in and out of, so I tend to the stick with a single curated card of flat bits.

[[URL REMOVED] Leatherman ratchet adapter was what inspired me to actually try the flat bits. I’ve never been a big fan of the modified bit driver heads for larger bits, but the ratchet driver adds in reach, the ability to use normal bit heads, ratcheting action, and has a magnetic tip. It really makes up for the short comings of the larger flatbits and the off-center nature of the bit holder.

Leatherman Free P2.5 (AKA: Modded)

 With that out of the way, I can say Leatherman makes the best multi-tools, but I've always had trouble finding one that's perfect for me, and honestly, I believe that model doesn't exist. But the P2 comes close. I've owned five Leatherman MT over the years: a PST, Sidekick, Skeletool, Micra, and now the Free P2. The first three are still going strong, passed on to a different set of hands, and the P2 is now my primary

The pliers are stout with replaceable 154cm wire cutters

 How hypocritical of me. To me, the P2 and P4 are not worth the $120 and $140 respectively. $80 and $100 seems more In the proper range. I used a gift card, so the price didn't sting as bad as it should have, but they are overpriced in my opinion

I really felt the magnetic closure on the tool is great as it makes the tool stay together. Having a belt sheath is nice too.

The tool needed to have strong cutters that could be replaced when worn, since I know she'll be using those a lot. Scissors that were practical in size, not itty bitty. Finally, something that can be personalized to discourage it from "walking off

I use this for various tasks around the house and yard. I do not use it for heavy use on a job site. For my purposes I love having this on hand. Has all the tools I need in a convenient package

 Okay. Now we have to go over a couple cons, because every honest review has to talk about the cons of every multi-tool. So first up is because this tool uses a high chromium content, stainless steel. The knife blade isn't going to have quite as good of edge retention as other multi-tools using 420 hc steel

 One of my biggest pet peeves of this particular multi-tool were the scissors, while the scissor design is overall, pretty good, they actuate well and they're very sturdy. The fact that they don't open up very far just limits the usefulness of them now this next con might actually be a pro for some people. The screwdrivers do not have bit interchangeability like the leatherman waves. Do the downside for this is, if you need things like a torx bit or a hex drive anything like that, you do not have the ability to add it to this multi-tool where, on, like the waiver surge you do, the pro of that feature is you'll, never Lose the screwdriver so long

 It'S the chisel, slash wire strippers and box cutter. I think this edge is technically classified as a wire case cutter by victorinox, but i personally think it's a great box cutter or doing things like cutting open, concrete bags bags of sand. Things like that that you would not ever want to use a regular knife blade for and since this multi-tool does not have a serrated edge blade. This little box cutter is going to come in really handy for you, so good job on the wire strippers, chisel and box cutter

 However, the regular wire cutters - they kind of have this second notch in there, and i would have preferred a just plain edge there kind of like the leatherman wave, for example. I just don't think the second notch really helps it if anything, it's a hindrance, especially when you're trying to cut larger diameter wire where it might not fit neatly into that notch. So that's a little bit of a knock. I have on it

 Velcro works best here since you can hear the thing "tear" open in almost any environment and avoid losing your tool.  This is my second Victorinox product and I can say that I'm happy with both. The Cybertool almost met my needs but the pliers simply didn't cut it in the workplace (light industrial technician). Carrying both would be ideal (I do) but the average person could quite easily go with the Swisstool Spirit X

Like my Cybertool 41, this item seems to be the same exact quality I'm beginning to expect from Victorinox. That is to say, very nice as far as I can tell. The tools have not been used or abused just yet but that is coming very soon now because I use this tool at work.  The tools themselves are the precise assortment that I would choose to have on a plier based multi-tool, hence my purchase

Initial Impressions

5. Both are pretty stout despite images, and should hold up fine to typical use. The nice bit is both can be replaced if you do somehow manage to break them.

3. I think there's a few locations that handle warranty repairs over in Europe, the UK branch being the one I'm aware of (American, BTW). I'd say do some research, and see where you'd have to send it, and factor that into your decision.
