 So while we still have the same needle nose with your regular pliers and then 154cm replaceable cutters and hard wire cutters to differences that we need to notate here, the first of which is it has it integrates that that crimper on the top - and I could tell You from experience that that crimper is it's pretty much worthless. It doesn't do a good job because it's too far away from the fulcrum point and then it really doesn't crimp down well on a lot of different stuff. So it's kind of specific it does.  I have the wave plus and the charge plus and that's the fact that it doesn't have an awl and to to put it all in here. You have to get rid of one tool and the one tool I'd like to see gone is the little micro driver not gone completely, because I would like to see him create a bit that would integrate it into the main driver. Where you know it's just. I think it's time for that, there's other implements that could go there

 You see how that kind of tends to want to slip out of there. So generally, what I have to do with the wave. It'S kind of give it a little bit of a flat spot first with the pliers, and then I'm able to pull it back there and then it will crimp in I mean, let's see if we can get that to illuminate a little better. So we can get a little better angle, then it it crimps down and it does a pretty decent job

 So it's kind of specific it does. Okay, if you're doing like a 10 or a 12 gauge butt splice connector. But you really got to put a lot of force behind it and, like I said, because it's far away from the focal point, it kind of doesn't work very well. Which is why I tend to lean more towards the wave and the charge plus, because they don't incorporate that that can also kind of get in the way if you're, using the needlenose

The Skeletool was my first Leatherman. That's how I finally came to understand the price.  Too much time and money had been wasted on cheap crappy multitools.  The Skeletool was useful, but it gave me a taste for what I could be doing with a multitool

Why didn't I know how much I would use this? My testimony, inside.

My Charge TTi blade snapped off so I initiated a warranty claim. Instructions ask to send the tool to a shipping company in British Columbia who then forwards it to Leatherman in the US. My tool was delivered to the shipping company on Jan 8, 2021. Finally received an email on Feb 2, 2021 that it was received in the US and sent for repair

 I forget where I saw where that was explained to me, but the waves are here. They aren't is jimping. These are here just to let you know what blade it is that you're looking at so let's go ahead and look at the main thing here. The pliers come to a really fine point: they're, really solid in hand

 Like that, it holds an edge, really well has a with a liner lock on the outside and nice thing about this is the knife is accessible from the outside? A bunch of tools are actually accessible from the outside and, what's really nice is every single thing on this, except for the pliers locks into place. So you're not going to you know, be screwing in with the driver and fold it over on your hand, and you know, hurt your knuckles or something like that. So let's go ahead and get into this. We saw the knife blade

 This one, a couple more militaristic ones. Maxpedition makes some really good stuff too, but it has this pocket clip that you can where's that right here on the bottom end, where, like all your small attachments, are you have the space in here and you can just insert the pocket clip. I can get it here with camera till it clicks and then it's in there and then all you do when you want to pull it out, is to just depress your lock again just locks right here in this little launch. So it's kind of cool

 If you get. One of these is a bit driver extender. So what you do is you just pull out your bit cut your extender end clips right in, and you just put your bit in there. Then it gives you all kinds of reach to get back in somewhere with a bit really worth its weight in gold

Some quick notes: there is no play whatsoever with the blade. The pivots are extremely tight and it takes a lot of effort to open up and unfold the pliers.

Time To Bond Today

I don’t want to bash leatherman at all but I am really disappointed by the quality of the tool, especially comparing it to Victorinox tools (even if the spirit costs about 50$ more). I will stay with my Swisstool and sadly need to carry it on my belt - really was looking forward using the pocketclip of the bond.

 Closing the handles with the knife out is seriously not easy. Another thing that was mentioned on here before is that the knife tends to slip out of the handle too easy before the slipjoint catches. I could see myself cutting my hand while using it. The file rubs on the handle badly and each time you open it, the lanyard ring comes out of the handle too

This one's kind of interesting. I used my modified knife less Leatherman Bond with bit driver and bit kit to repair my elementary classroom door handle after an active shooter drill. My door handle got bent during the drill so I popped it off using one of the hex bits from the bit kit, unbent it and reinstalled it.

Thought it might be interesting / give people some inspiration for how they can get the most use out of their tools.

For me, I just used my Skeletool to open my brand new Surge.

Discussion: What was the last thing you did with your Leatherman?

 Due to the all steel construction of the Bond I think that the pliers in actual use will be able to take some significant abuse, similar to the Wave or Spirit. I am ok with not having the replaceable cutting edges as this is not something that I typically use. Note, I like the LM pliers over the Victorinox Spirit as the needle nose is longer. The Bond feels very good in the hand with no sharp points etc

 It is slightly heavier than the LM Kick, discontinued, 5.3 oz (152 gr) but significantly better constructed being all steel.  Note, the Bond is also significantly thinner than the Spirit and Wave and given its size and weight can be easily stored in my pocket instead of in the provided belt pouch. The tool itself is nicely rounded so I don't think there is any concern about tearing your pocket

Summary - My purpose for this tool was primarily to EDC pliers and the pliers are excellent, as is the overall construction and weight. Only reason why not five stars is that one of the arms is hard/tight to close, however, I expect this to wear in over time and or with use. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and expect that will be carrying it for a long time.  Your intended use may be different than mine which will determine whether or not this tool is a fit for you

Great tool - depending on intended use

I have always enjoyed collecting Leatherman tools since buying a PST a while ago. I knew that the Bond would be simple, and that the plan for the knife and tool setup would avoid locking features to allow for lawful carry in an expanded group of regions and countries.  That being said, there's no real value that I see that is comparable to any of the other Leatherman offerings other than the price (the Sidekick and Wingman used to be the entry level offerings).  I'm surprised and a bit disappointed that the Bond is a slightly upgraded PST

The PST was amazing to me when I had first gotten one in the late 90's, and consequently the outer knife and tool folding Wave (and all knives based on it like the Surge, Charge, MUT, Free.

Not an innovative offering but still a decent choice for certain regions/countries...

I have carried the Rebar for years and this has most of the same functions but saves a little weight. So the Bond does not have a saw or serrated sheep’s foot blade but I will make do with the regular blade. I rarely used the saw on my Rebar anyway. Mine locks tight for a slip joint type

 Don’t pay attention to reviews from people that would lose a finger if they ever used a Swiss Army knife. There is a correct way to use this and it is to fully open the handles all the way around so if the tools do unlock they won’t move very far. This works with the bit kit and adapter for the squarish type Phillips driver. I tried the tools like the Wave with the bit holder but that square Phillips is better in my opinion
