 If I had to put it in a sleeve, my laptop probably would not fit. Hence, the 17" claim can be put to rest: it would not fit a 17" laptop, unless you have remarkable cramming skills. I docked a star for this because I know it wouldn't fit as nicely (which it should as it's well below the 17" limit) with the sleeve on, which I intended to do during times of bad weather.  Onto the zippers

  Now, onto my other big gripe with the bag: the space. As a college student, I put in my laptop, it's charger and a mouse, a one inch binder, a course packet, a tiny planner, a thin accordion folder organizer, and then filled the two spaces with pens, pencils, and all of your stationary needs. The bag looks full, very full. I won't be able to fit my lunch bag in it at all

My one fear is that the stitching for the zippers will come undone as it has for some other people -- if that begins to happen, I'll knock the backpack down another star.  It was a little too much so for me so I tossed it in the washing machine three times in a row with a couple large bath blanket towels and now mine is a bit more relaxed and pliable, not looking so much like and astronaut backpack.  This is a large backpack too as far as daybag type backpacks go. If you are about 5'5" or shorter this thing is going to look huge on you. I'm 5'10" and it looks kind of big on me

This is a good and durable backpack

 This is a great jacket for layering. It is my "go-to" jacket for hikes when the weather is expected to warm up. So light-weight that it can easily fit into a daypack or wrap around your waist if you get too hot. Highly recommended!

 Besides that unfortunate circumstance, it is a pity that this otherwise well designed, adequately proportionate (for a 17" laptop and some groceries) commuter backpack was not made with more durable materials. After about 3 months of using it daily, I noticed that the stitches between some of the segments of the backpack started to fray and progressively fall apart. Now, about half a year after purchase, I see a need for replacement pretty soon. In conclusion, it would be fantastic to have an overnight delivery of a solid backpack similar to this one, AND to have that backpack made to last

 So far this is the best backpack in the market currently. The only thing lacking is a solid base such as a thick piece a foam to protect you laptop if accidentally dropping your backpack. To mitigate this issue I was able to find a thick strong piece of foam that I placed on the bottom so that the laptop can sit on it, this works perfectly. Make sure it fills the bottom area fully so that the laptop does not slip to the bottom of the bag again

 4. Zippers are a little tough to zip as they catch on the material withing however overall good so far.
