What are the best synthesizers in your opinion under 1000$?

 Punching rumbling, sub bassy sounds comparing it to something like a moog, sub 37 or a moog matriarch. It just doesn't have that same earth-shaking, low-end rumble and that's okay. It doesn't have to if you're, using the prologue as your only synth, and you do want to make a bass sound. My workaround for this is using triangle waves and having a layer of a sub bass using the low frequency compressor and a single triangle

 With three separate lfos algorithmic fm everything built in where the multi engine is essentially a separate synth under the hood now having that power and having that uniqueness of, what's essentially a second synthesizer, a second digital synthesizer inside an analog synth, is really unique and really adds A lot to the character of the prologue. What i'll do a lot is i'll i'll make a traditional analog, subtractive sound, something like i'd make on a profit or an ob6, and then i'll build underneath it some weird fm transient, pluck that adds a totally metallic sound that i couldn't get otherwise and it emulates. Having essentially two synthesizers one analog one digital, that kind of workflow makes me make sounds on the prologue that i can't make with any other synth, and i think that's pretty special next up the effects now since making that video i've gotten a lot pickier with my Effects i've been lucky enough to use some of the best effects. Pedals on the market and effects are something i really have a lot more passion for than i did back when i made that video

 I think, first and foremost, the prologue is a very mid-range forward instrument which sounds absolutely beautiful and warm uh. That'S mainly due to the 12 db per octave filter, but the trade-off of that is, i find it's a little bit harder on the prologue to get those really deep chest.  The korg prologue fits really well into the same category as something like a moog matriarch or an ob6, where it's an amazing characterful synth that has a ton of bite and grit and character. But it isn't your jack-of-all-trades swiss army knife synth like something like a summit or a hydrosynth would be. For that reason, i would definitely say that the korg prologue is still worth it, but these these conditions are definitely worth noting, especially if this is going to be your first and only synth purchase all right guys. So, as you can see, even with the cons, i still absolutely think the prologue has stood the test of time and i still think it's extremely underrated

and that means i wanted to reflect back on one 
of my earliest videos and one of the videos that  

really kicked off this channel talking about 
synths and that is of course my review of the  

korg prologue now this is actually the first 
hardware synth i ever bought all the way back  

in 2019 when it first came out and it really 
kicked off my love for hardware synthesizers  

before then i was obsessed with soft synths like 
serum silent massive you know the usual suspects  

but getting the korg prolog completely 
changed the way i thought about synthesis  

and really started to make me do a lot more unique 
sound design and live automation while recording  

the sandball twisting knobs so back in 2019 i 
made a video that talked about why i thought the  

cork prologue was the most underrated synth on 
the market and why i wholeheartedly recommended  

it now fast forward three years later and there's 
been a lot more since released there's been a lot  

of really great since release i should add and 
i wanted to see if the cork prologue is still as  

good as i remember it so today i thought it would 
be helpful to dive back in and see if what i said  

back in 2019 still rings true is the korg prologue 
still one of the absolute best scents you can buy  

and do i still recommend it let's check it out

way let's jump into what i still think the korg 
prolog excels at and what i still love about it

now the first thing has to be the fact that it 
has a huge amount of analog vco voices now i'll  

admit the korg prologue 8 probably has a little 
bit more competition here than it did when it  

first came out in 2019 with some really great 
offerings out there now that have analog voices  

for similar amounts of money however the korg 
prolog 16 to my knowledge is still the only  

relatively affordable 16 voice vco poly synth 
on the market today there's no getting around it  

i'm not going to get into a debate about analog 
versus digital but vcos sound amazing and are  

usually limited by voice count my ob6 my absolute 
favorite synth i oftentimes find myself running  

out of voices while i'm playing it not so on the 
quark prologue you can do these amazing long ever  

evolving pads where the tails just go on forever 
and the vcos make it all sound so damn good

next up the hands-on workflow now i am very 
particular about workflow because i really  

truly think it affects the quality of sounds 
you make and the inspiration you have for making  

songs and finishing songs and the korg prologue is 
honestly still probably the fastest synth i have  

to just dial up a patch that sounds absolutely 
great with no menu diving on it the hands-on  

control of knob per function for practically 
everything that's important is honestly just  

a joy to use and it's an amazing tool for teaching 
synthesis i think when i bought the quark prologue  

i was not as good at synthesis as i am now and 
i owe a lot to the korg prologue for really  

teaching me the fundamentals of subtractive 
hardware synthesis for that reason alone i  

i still think that the prologue is an absolute 
beast and if you're interested in learning how  

to make your own sounds there's many many many 
things to say that are great about the prologue

next up now this kind of contradicts what i said 
before but i love the fact that the multi-engine  

can go as deep as you really want it to the 
multi-engine can be as simple as a couple  

basic noise shapes with just a high pass filter 
or you can go down menu diving hell and find some  

crazy user oscillators with three separate 
lfos algorithmic fm everything built in where

synth under the hood now having that power  

and having that uniqueness of what's essentially
