3 pounds, this is certainly on the heavier side. Also, the extra zipper pockets above the water bottles make it difficult to use taller water bottles with this pack. But for a comfortable, high-capacity, and durable backpacking pack at such an affordable price, we can live with these minor issues.

I see much neck pain in your future with that pack. I'd return it because your $100 will be wasted if you you buy gear that doesn't work. Ultimately, however, I ended up returning this pack due to comfort concerns. Granted, I never left the confines of my home with the pack, it still created some discomfort in my lower back (even with a measly 20lbs loaded in it). I adjusted equipment several times but could never get rid of a hot spot at the base of the pack (there's not padding to raise the pack off of your lumbar, and I felt the seam across the bottom just constantly rubbed).

Overall, the Trailbreak 60 was a pleasure to wear, very comfortable with considerable weight (30-35 pounds), and easy to use. Comfort is paramount on the trail, and the waist straps, shoulder padding, and air flow for the mid and lower back make this backpack a pleasure for lugging gear.

Great pack. Comfortable to wear and plenty of organization, but doesn’t go overboard in that department. I like the fleece-lined valuables pocket for stashing my phone in a pinch. Only minor complaint is that it doesn’t always stand on its own

The zippers appear to be of high quality. The entire package seems to be of excellent quality. In conclusion, I believe the previous design was superior in some aspects, and while there is still space for improvements, I would not hesitate to suggest this pack to a friend.

This pack is awesome! The bottom zipper made accessing the whole mail compartment super easy if I needed to get something from the bottom. There is a divider flap near the bottom to separate my sleeping equipment from my other gear as well. The stretch pouch on the rear was quite large, and the nylon used made it so I wasn’t afraid that it was going to rip from sharp corners or gear, unlike a lot of other packs that have this pocket made of mesh.

Don't go smaller, 65 is perfect. I have the 55 as well and that is too restrictive for 4 days and 3 nights in the backcountry.

While Northface makes a good quality bag this bag is too narrow for use as a book bag for a high school or college student. The opening is small and my son struggles to get more than 3 books in and out of the bag. If looking to just pack your laptop, a jacket and one book for a hiking trip then this is your bag but not for a book bag for a student. I am sorry I made this purchase
