My experience with sealed hasn't been great - given they were very cheap subs that were more "fart boxes". However, the reviews on the SVS SB100 box said it goes plenty low, maybe not as low as the ported, but it goes plenty low. And low it does go. This subwoofer does NOT mate well with these Orb Audio speakers. There's not enough midrange frequency output. It's not the fault of this SVS subwoofer, so I give it a clear 5 stars. RECOMMENDED!!!

stay away from other subs. this is the best sub for the money on the market. svs gives amazing customer service and their warranty is unbeatable. the sound is amazing in my medium sized room

I’m gna say that I know very little about speakers and sound but after much research- I have bought myself the Kef ls50 wireless version 1 and are awaiting speaker stands today- currently they are on the floor. Anyway- I listen to a lot of EDM and house music- but I’m finding the bass very “tight”, very “short”, almost “tappy” it doesn’t sound like the same bass on my AirPods or previous speakers.

I'm in Canada (we have [amazon.ca](https://amazon.ca/)). My folks gifted me the $ to pick up an SVS SB-1000 sub as a housewarming, so it's only nominally part of the budget

Replaced my 5.1 home theater setup with a much smaller 2-channel system. The previous setup was way too cramped in this NYC apartment.

Initially was going to swap the first sb-1000 with my daughter's substantially larger bedroom sb-2000 (which has the metal grille making it even larger) but decided against that due to size considerations and the sb-1000's decent output even in the wide open living room area. Fyi, I also have two beastly sb-4000 subs in my home theater room and I'm still impressed with output from the comparitively tiny sb-1000. However, the sb-1000's enclosure is nowhere near as inert as the sb-4000's but that shouldn't be expected considering their size, weight and power difference. I highly recommend the sb-1000 especially for music
