For those interested, an upgrade I would recommend is spending a bit more on the amplifier and subwoofer to get something with banana plug jacks all around. I didn't realize how annoying pin connectors were until I was forced to use them, as the monoprice 12 Guage wire (picked because wirecutter recommended) does not fit through these small pin connectors.

FYI, the midrange issue might be due to the Cambridge CXA amp, which has a reserved sound from reviews.

Example: when someone has a deep voice opens their mouth and it pushes out sound. Overall, it is amazing for my midsized room. Con: The power is sometimes touchy. A power outage, unclean power, or putting the Sub on the wrong RCA cables can give you the Red/Green flashing issue

I eventually looked at my space and realized that if I moved my sofa up by 2 feet I would miss the door way and could place my surrounds on the walls in the proper place and I also could get rid of the shitty Samsung RUGarbageTV I had and get a 65” OLED and get the same field of view.

Audio quality is not a focus/priority. I’m obviously not looking for garbage, but like the Monoprice ones I mentioned before for example, no one is gonna write home about its sound quality, but for my purposes it’s perfectly fine. That sort of average sound quality is 100% fine. Could be a little louder though

Koss Porta Pro X: I use these when out and about as a beater pair. They're a little hyped up IMO. Way too bassy for my ears. But for the price, they can't be beat

I’m gna say that I know very little about speakers and sound but after much research- I have bought myself the Kef ls50 wireless version 1 and are awaiting speaker stands today- currently they are on the floor. Anyway- I listen to a lot of EDM and house music- but I’m finding the bass very “tight”, very “short”, almost “tappy” it doesn’t sound like the same bass on my AirPods or previous speakers.

LFE is effortless in a moderately sized space though I listen a somewhat below reference levels.

Replaced my 5.1 home theater setup with a much smaller 2-channel system. The previous setup was way too cramped in this NYC apartment.

This thing is huge... I bet the M-215s are a beast! I like the tank look of the subwoofer but you can tell they cut corners to make it cheaper

I typically prefer them to three-way designs and towers in almost every situation, but i did want to see if the ls50 meta would fare any differently, ...

With that said, in your situation, if your 150W rms sub is already getting the neighbors attention, going to a 500W Monolith 12 doesn't make sense. I don't really have much advice with apartment/condo dwellers as you don't really have the flexibility to go wild. You may get a better experience by getting some good headphones, maybe a bass-shaker in the couch (low level use as again, they can shake things a bit for the neighbors).
