You might not even fully realize just how much you want a ski like this. For high-volume ski touring, steep-and-rowdy firm-snow ski mountaineering, and work-week, headlamp exercise skinning, a lightweight set-up based on the K2 WayBack 80 is just the ticket. The featherweight construction flies uphill. The narrow and stiff construction grabs on the steeps but gets bucked around in tougher snow. 
This is a specialized tool. You won't pick these for day-to-day backcountry skiing. Deep, perfect powder snow is enjoyable, but bigger guns will be even more fun. Any sort of poor snow &#40;breakable crust? Slop?&#41; is better handled by a bigger and heavier option. All small skis are under-equipped for tough snow, but the K2 does better than most. It is this ski's more forgiving tough-snow performance that edges it ahead of other close competitors.

Obviously I won't be taking these out for powder laps but for long/fast and/or late season missions this is a great choice at a great price. Match them with a race binding (I mounted a Plum 150), light boots and race skins and you'll have a setup you won&#39;t mind hiking with to find snow in mid summer.

I got these for late spring/summer use and couldn't be happier. They are very light but can still be skied hard. I have found they shine on steep icy slopes (skied bulletproof on Temple SW) and they handle those horrible summer sun cups just fine. Compared to the Waybacks 88s I find they are a bit less grabby in breakable crusts and easier to control on steep ice

 So, yeah, let us know if you have any questions and we'll see you guys on the slopes.

 You know, demo bindings are pretty heavy. This ski that I have in my hand is a demo binding. So underfoot here it's pretty heavy, but I can, even just holding it, you can feel the light weight or light swing weight in the tips and tails. So, yeah, good, you know, good versatile AT ski

 We reached out to a few guys that kind of use this as their daily driver ski. Andrew Whiteford's a really well-known skier, came from here on the East and now he's kind of all over the place. And he really, really likes this ski because it's got, you know, it's performance that you can trust. It's a ski that you can grab on pretty much any day as long as you're not just like ripping groomer turns all day

 And yeah, you know, it's just a really good ski. It's got a lot of, it's got a good even mix of performance characteristics. It's not overly demanding, but you do get good stability out of this ski too. So say you want to ski pretty fast and aggressively, the tail actually has some nice support to it

 Hi, skiers. I'm Jeff from SkiEssentials.com. Welcome to our 2021 ski test videos. Today we're going to talk about the Line Sick Day 104.

 You know, big powder day, maybe the conditions are perfect, maybe the sun is out and it's a warm day.

 It's always fun to take a sick day and get out there and enjoy the mountain on a midweek day.

 And this Sick Day 104 is a pretty perfect tool to do that with, just a really versatile ski.

 You know, 104 waist width, we kind of throw that into the freeride category, but this thing's pretty darn versatile as an all-mountain ski too.

 Aspen wood core in these skis, and then they also have carbon fiber, basically strips of carbon fiber down the full length of the ski.

 Give it some extra responsiveness, some extra stability. Carbon is a really, really cool material for ski construction that more and more companies are using.

 It starts becoming a pretty popular material for ski construction.

 And then shape of this thing, you know, when you think of line, traditionally we think about twin tips.

 This is a much more directional ski. There is some tail rise back there, but it's not that substantial and I certainly wouldn't call it a twin tip.

 And then there's much longer tip rocker up here. And as you can see, just binding placement, we've got a more traditional mount point on these.

 Now, we do get some nice early taper in the tips and tails. Again, more abrupt in the tip, or at least more prevalent in the tip, which makes sense for a directional shape like this.

 And yeah, you know, it's just a really good ski. It's got a lot of, it's got a good even mix of performance characteristics.

 It's not overly demanding, but you do get good stability out of this ski too. So say you want to ski pretty fast and aggressively, the tail actually has some nice support to it.

 It's actually a fairly stiff tail, or at least stiff enough that it provides some, you know, a good stable feel from basically midsole back,

 which really helps if you're skiing fast and aggressively and then you get off balance, maybe get thrown into the back seat or something like that.
