I am a teenage alpine racer who is seriously considering get alpine touring skis this year. When I was younger I was never allowed to buy free skis because I would grow out of them in a season, but now my gs skis are longer than my dad’s and the middle point of my sl and gs skis is right around the length of his free skis. I love hiking and snowshoeing and the dynamics of alpine touring have always fascinated me. I was think about putting alpine touring bindings on a pair of nordica enforcers 104 frees but if anyone has any better suggestions please let me know.

Best Alpine Touring Skis for Vermont?

 The K2 reckoner 102 seem great, as there is a smaller size available since I'm rather short. The only thing is that I feel like they are a bit heavy (1800gr per ski w/out bindings). I also checked out the reckoner 92 aliance but again they might be too slim at the waist.

But they do go that well with really deep powder as I feel like I have to lean back too much. So I'm looking for a more freeride oriented ski that I can go touring w.  I've rocked this as an all-mountain ski on softer days.

 Rips around quite a bit, nice and snappy, but it is very soft.

 I'm skiing at a 177 right now, I'm probably pushing like 13, 14 meter turn radius on it

 and that is not what it's designed to do.

 Although it is a softer ski and it's easy to butter through the tip and the tail, it

 does have a lot of pop, it's responsive, it rebounds easily, it has a lot of energy.

 I was able to spin easily because it's extremely light and has a low swing weight.

 At 102 millimeters underfoot, this is a really good option in the trees and in fresh pow,

 especially on the east coast, as a western ski, I would recommend this for a freestyle

 skier who spends time in the park and wants something they can ski and powder without
