 Well, the Pinnacle was a great ski. It was nice and light and did a lot of things, but it did have a bit of a chattery aspect to it. It wasn't as damp as people liked. Well, they kind of threw out the formula and went back to, and basically designed this Mindbender from the ground up, and I think they did a really nice job

 Well, by having this kind of frame right here, like this fork, it holds the torsional stiffness. And you can really feel it, man. When you get on a groomer on this ski, it is incredible. For a 99-under-foot ski, this thing rails like a slalom ski on groomers

 It has rocker in the tip, of course, to keep you up above the snow in the powder. That's very key. It has just the right amount. And then it's an 18-meter radius, 18

 And the more it comes off the snow, the less contact you have with the snow, the less control you have. Okay? Does that make sense? The downside of Tetanol, if you just start putting layers and layers of it in ski, you get a really damp ski, but it can either get too damp or too heavy or both. So how you put it in there is a very delicate balance. What they did here, the engineers slash hardcore skiers at K2, is they made this frame so you have a lot of Tetanol right under the foot here, and then they extended out in the top here and put it just on the edges

 here in Squaw Valley, testing all the gear so you can have an excellent season.

 And one piece of equipment I have been testing all year that I can tell you all about is

 I won the Olympics on K2, but I've been on a lot of other skis as well.

 If you saw any of my other reviews, you would have seen the K2 Pinnacle.

 It was nice and light and did a lot of things, but it did have a bit of a chattery aspect

 Mindbender from the ground up, and I think they did a really nice job.

 The first thing you'll notice is it has this little sort of different level of, has kind

 And they had started doing this for a while, where they used a different material on the

 outside edges than the inside for weight and for performance, but they really nailed it

 this time with what they call the Tetanol Y-Frame.

 So Tetanol is a material, like a titanium metal blend that ski companies use to create

 dampness in a ski, because a ski that's just made out of mostly wood, which most skis are

 made of, performs really well and has good rebound, but sometimes it can bounce around

 When you add metal to a ski, it sort of dampens that ski and allows it to stay on the snow

 If you think about a really long downhill ski and you see those guys coming down at

 80 miles an hour and you slow it down, the ski is constantly vibrating, just like a car.

 And the more it comes off the snow, the less contact you have with the snow, the less control

 The downside of Tetanol, if you just start putting layers and layers of it in ski, you

 get a really damp ski, but it can either get too damp or too heavy or both.
