Best Laptop Sleeve of 2022 - GearLab

 I do not put my charger in the front pocket as that makes it a little bulky and awkward, but I appreciate the convenience of storing my earbuds in there. A strap or handle of some kind might make this more travel-friendly, but even without it, it fits easily in my backpack or bag with room to spare, so I’m not very inconvenienced.  It'S been very comfortable to wear and it comes with a ton of awesome organizational options, so i'm really excited to share it with you guys, and i want to thank the company for sending the bag for me to test out and with all that being said, let's Go ahead and jump in starting off with the outside of the bag. The appearance here is very much unchanged from the original authority pack and i really liked the style of that bag. It just had a very sophisticated and modern appearance that felt like it's gon na look really good in a more professional or office setting, while still working for walking around the city, and so i still really like the aesthetic here and i'm glad they didn't change it Too much the biggest difference that you can see from the outside is down at the bottom. You have this accent piece here, that's kind of a pleather or tarpon like material, so just to give it, i guess a little bit more of that deluxe feeling and it works pretty well

 It feels a little bit like a durable kind of polyester material, like it's going to hold up well, like many of the other timber 2 bags that i've used. I'Ve had them for several years, and i've never had any issues with the exterior material. It also feels like it's going to offer a decent amount of weather resistance, particularly in lighter or medium rain, and then you also have some nice ykk zippers, all throughout with the inverted coils, to give it just a little bit more protection against the elements and then Continuing along the outside, i was really happy to see that the bag includes an external water bottle pocket and i was able to fit the same 20 ounce water bottle that you've seen in a lot of my other daily bag videos and that fit in there pretty Nicely one thing that i would call out about this water bottle is that it doesn't have too much elasticity, so the size of the water bottle that you saw there was about as big of a bottle as i would be comfortable fitting. You know it looks a little bit stretchy, but upon using it, it just starts to get very tight

Timbuk2 Authority Laptop Backpack Deluxe Review - Comfortable 28L Work / EDC Backpack

Loved it though. Timbuk2 Authority Deluxe - multi-compartment design made a “27L” bag feel like 16L to me.

 The exterior build quality is really good, zippers are okay, interior quality is a little lacking. I think the bag looks really nice other than the two straps at the bottom which seem excessive (unless I'm carrying a sleeping pad).

Solid but small

 So moving on to the main compartment and this is kind of where the authority pack separates itself from the division pack the division pack pretty much just had the laptop compartment and this organizational compartment that I just reviewed a second ago the authority pack has the big organizational pocket and an additional main compartment to put bigger items if you want to put a jacket in here some a change of clothes if you're going to go to the gym or something after work so you know it has a lot of extra space you know if you're just looking for a little bit more than what the division pack had to offer this is where the authority pack can really shine and then as I was saying earlier you know this command backpack has a very similar layout with about the same amount of capacity so just something to keep in mind as we're going through. And so in this in this main compartment you know it's probably more space than what I need for a day-to-day basis but I'll just go through what I have in here I have my bag smart cable organizer where I keep all my random chargers and dongles and things like that and then I have a full-size moleskin notebook and then I have my book that I've been reading for a while now and then I have my in case accessory organizer with just kind of a bigger bulkier items a few power adapters things like that and then on the inside of the bag there is actually a sleeve kind of to help divide the main compartment so you can put a document here you can put a folder here with documents you can put a tablet it'll definitely hold you know even a full-size iPad Pro I just have my iPad mini here but it's kind of overkill for that this is a you know pretty big pocket it's a little bit padded I wouldn't say that it's necessarily a padded tablet compartment it doesn't really have any kind of felt soft lining and the in the padding is pretty thin it's not quite empty but it but it's not super padded but it is nice that it offers kind of that additional division so that you can organize your things or reach things a little bit easier especially because of how deep this bag is and then on top of that the padding from the laptop compartment you you can kind of feel it through here so it still does offer some padding if you want to put a tablet in here and then as I mentioned earlier there's plenty of space here to fit you know a jacket or a pair of shoes or even you know if you want to use this for a short week in a way you might even be able to squeeze a packing cube in there so overall it's just a really kind of well-rounded bag has a lot of capacity and really good organizational options so overall I really enjoyed testing out the authority pack I think it's a great kind of all-around bag that has a lot of style a great quality it's super comfortable and it can hold a good amount of stuff it has really well laid out pockets and a lot of really cool features and at you know a hundred and thirty ish dollars it's not that expensive it's a little bit on the pricier side but it's a really good quality bag and it comes with a lifetime warranty from Timbuktu and it's very competitively priced compared to other brands and bags in the same kind of category so you know it's it's it's not the cheapest but it's it's still a decent price for a really good bag as I had mentioned earlier this bag reminds me a good amount of the older Timbuktu command bag that's been out for a while so if you're looking to save a little bit of money and you want a bag that's about this size and has similar pockets I would definitely recommend checking out the command as well but if you want kind of the latest and greatest that Timbuktu has to offer and you want a bag that has a little bit more updated style and that just has a really nice aesthetic all around and it's going to look great whether you're going into the office or walking around the city I definitely recommend checking out the Timbuktu Authority Pack. Then here we just have a couple of pen holders or for a stylus or something like that you have two of those and then another smaller slip pocket here where I have just another external battery these days you got to have a lot of those to make sure you can keep all your devices powered and then there's a zipper pocket here that goes pretty deep as well as you can see I can fit my whole hand here and you know this is good just for random accessories or smaller items that you want to keep in one place so I just have my fidget spinner here and this really cool credit card lock pick set that I found recently and then on the back of the zipper pocket there's yet another slip pocket that goes all the way to the bottom as you can see my whole hand fits it doesn't go all the way to the bottom of this main pocket it goes kind of to the same point that all the other slip pockets end so you know it's pretty deep as you can see my full hand fits here and here this pocket I just have a retractable HDMI cable nothing too big you know this as as you've seen in the past I pack most of my stuff in kind of a modular organizer so a lot of my smaller accessories aren't in these pockets but if you just like everything to have its own pocket there's plenty of organization here for you to organize the way that best fits your style
