Yes.  Both the UE hyperboom and JBL boombox 2 are bigger.  However,  both have handles to easily take them everywhere you go.

I currently own a UE wonderboom 2 but am planning on buying another bluetooth speaker that has better sound quality and sounds more immersive - I'm mostly listening to soundtracks, piano, acoustic and electro. 

I've seen the rave reviews fore the motion+ and wanted to know if it is worth the upgrade?  Or should I be looking for a bigger speaker to get that immersive sound?

 Do you need any other speaker? no Will it attract attention to your entire neighborhood? yes The sound is amazing. JBL really did a nice job on putting this together and I am completely satisfied. Connecting was quick and painless and even at the lowest setting, you will be able to hear it pretty well. We tested this thing at multiple bonfires and we got nothing but compliments

 The battery life is listed as 24 hours and for me at least, each party we have had, it has not died on us. As a matter of fact, it wasnt even near 1/2 when I recharge it. That in itself is a reason to purchase. Its loud and its perfect for parties

1 with the 3 you're getting Bluetooth 5.3 so better connectivity but here's the biggest difference that i noticed the speaker setup now in the Boombox 2 you got two 40 watt woofers and two 40 watt tweeters with the Boombox 3 you got an extra speaker so you got one 80 watt woofer two 40 watt mids and two 10 watt tweeters so theoretically it should sound better but everything looks better on paper we're gonna have to put it to the test in the real world all right so let's unbox it and see what it is now the side note i'm upstairs in my attic where all these loud speakers be playing white shoes does not like loud music so she got the day off all right so here's what you get in the box got your usual books and shit plug them and file them and you get your plug now here's another difference that i just noticed with the Boombox 3 you got this kind of plug with the Boombox 2 this kind of plug now here's the front of the speaker now if you notice you got a big JBL logo instead of the small one on the Boombox 2 and now you have a metal handle instead of the plastic with the same rubber grips on the inside now here's all your buttons so you got your party boost you got play and pause volume up and down power and bluetooth pairing you also have an led indicator for your battery levels now the speaker is covered in a waterproof fabric now on the left of the speaker you got a JBL logo and there's your radiators they're going to be vibrating like crazy the right of the speaker looks exactly the same another radiator now here's the back of the speaker nice and clean same waterproof fabric and you got a flap to cover up your components let's take a look at those all right so here's your input for your plug you got a usb-a in so you can charge up your phone or your tablet or whatever you got and a 3.5 auxiliary input for non-bluetooth devices now the speaker is fully waterproof so you cover up that flap and jump in the water now here's another feature you do get wireless updates so i just downloaded the JBL app and let's perform the update all right so now let's take a look at the JBL app simple and straightforward you got the name of the speaker a picture of the speaker and your battery percentage now you got a fully functional EQ you can turn your feedback tone on and off you got your user guide you can check for software updates and you have your party boost switch all right so now let's do a sound test now i'm going to start off at 50 volume with the EQ set to the stock settings here we go make sure you put your headphones on so okay now you can feel that bass at 50 volume let's try this now i'm going to switch the EQ settings i'm going to add a little bit more bass and a little bit more treble still at 50 volume here we go so okay now the bass on this speaker is so deep and clean i love it already now everybody knows JBL speakers get more watts when you plug it in so now let's try that same test plugged in all right so now the speaker is plugged in at 50 volume with my favorite EQ setting here we go so all right so now let's do that same test but this time maximum volume here we go so all right now one of the things that JBL claims about the boombox 3 is that you could rock this at max volume with zero distortion so let's try a few more tracks at max volume here we go so now this speaker sounds so crystal clear and clean let's try one more so All right, now I don't know if this YouTube mic is gonna do this video justice, but sitting right in front of the speaker, it sounds absolutely incredible.
