In a weird shaped room like a hallway or around furniture legs, it is ponderous and feels like it runs over the same spot again and again. In a big room it makes neat, straight, long lines. For a robot that only knows where it has been by using a tiny sensor on the bottom and the front bumper, it performs remarkably well. Not nearly as well as a LIDAR or camera robot but my wife has privacy concerns about having a live camera in the house so we aren't buying any more intelligent of a Roomba

Roomba's dual rubber brushes still do a better job on carpet than the traditional brush rollers everyone else uses. The bad: sometimes the map takes wonky shapes that don't look like your house. Even so, it still seems to clean everywhere and after a few days modifies the map to look more realistic. There are still a couple spots on our map that look funky, but it hasn't taken away from actually cleaning everywhere

Now it really does the job, but they made me pay $250 to get the base. So that is why I am writing this review.

Vacuums with this feature typically cost around $1,000, however, which is a lot more than most people are able or willing to spend. That makes the Roomba i3+ EVO especially appealing; at $549.99, it's iRobot's most affordable model with a self-emptying dustbin. Its battery life isn't spectacular and its smart mapping capabilities are limited to a single floor, but depending on your needs and budget, it might be the right model for you

I was so excited about this vacuum. When I got it I had it map out my house and everything it was amazing suction was amazing. I specifically bought this one and paid extra because I do have dogs and sometimes there are accidents and this is specifically supposed to go around animal messes. I have had previously with an older roomba the mess of the roomba going through a pet mess and smearing it around on the carpet

- Flic buttons (or some other 3rd party) to allow people in the house to control things without needing to remember obscure routine names.

We love it's features and how it vacuums. Getting it set up was a bit of a challenge though so I thought I would share. I could not find any detailed information on how to best run the mapping runs and that part of the interface is a little funky. Did some googling, took a couple guesses and wala

When I finally started to use it, the map features were nice, the suction was good (two dogs in our home), and it wasn’t too loud. However, overall, I prefer my other vacuum as the map is in real time and it’s more user-friendly and has fewer errors and issues.

The big plus to this one is that it empties itself into a collection bin for you, which is something I always seem to forget. The biggest downside to this one is the noise level. This one seems to be noisier than previous models and sounds like an airplane taking off when it empties into its bin. The map feature is neat but does not seem to really help the robot avoid problem areas

I bought the aftermarket ones from Amazon too and found them WAY too noisy so I bought the iRobot ones. Unfortunately, they're still noisier than the disposable ones but slightly less noisy than amazon brand. I think the noise comes from the vibration of the plastic card with the braava. I'm thinking of adding some thin fabric to see if it'll make a difference

Pros: Cleans very thoroughly and is less noisy than previous models. Avoids random objects well. Easy to program and setup. Easy to maintain

However, it never even was able to fully map my house because it would get stuck on the low pile rug constantly. Kind of defeats the purpose of being able to turn it on and not having to worry. I would have kept it if it cost $100.
