I bought it to use in my office where I like to smoke cigars. I can confirm it’s very effective at quickly getting rid of smoke and odor. It’s much more powerful than my old Okaysou Airmax8l. I was also getting tired of replacing filters so often in that air purifier

According to my sound meter app, the Iq Air Health Pro Plus ranges from about 38 decibels at the lowest setting up to 63 at the highest. So it does get relatively loud at the highest setting, but you can also really turn that sound level down if necessary

 It's known for being a very well sealed air purifier. It's built with a hyper hepa filter which is intended to capture 99.5 percent of particles as small as 3 000 of a micron. and then in addition to this hepa filter, the purifier contains an odor filter which features a combination of activated carbon and impregnated activated alumina or aluminum oxide

 On top of the purifier, you get several controls so you have six different speed settings. Sets it apart from the other purifiers here, which max out at four settings. so you have a fair amount of flexibility in how this air purifier is running. So depending on if you have severe allergies, you need it to be running at high speed or the size of your room as well

IQAir Health Pro Plus Air Purifier Review (We Tried It)

  I determined that removing the chemicals from the air was worth it to me.  The quality of this thing and the filter stink/short life..

 This mean you likely want to keep that area clean so you're not clogging the filters ahead of schedule and you probably want to use the wheels to increase the height/allow more airflow.  The air comes out the top and goes in all eight directions from the side.  The cord attaches at the bottom and looks to be about 10ft (didn't measure and could just be 8').  Apart from that the design is what you see

  **** Updated 7/20/12 corrected cord length as it definitely seems more like 10' added search term allergy buying club where I found air filter reviews.  I likely won't be reviewing again. After some thought the wheels falling off whenever I move this thing just annoys me. That with the fact it could be prone to damage and it's 900 just leads me to believe that this investment isn't for me

 we're not talking about vacuum cleaner loud, but definitely a raised voice.  For the volume it's rated to push through the numbers aren't horribly unexpected and it's pushing more air at a quieter level than many other air filters I've purchased (and in theory also doing a more complete job of filtering based on website claims and review sites). it wasn't broken on arrival).  Someone planning on this being stationary, will likely be happier than me as my concern is really a non-issue and my hope is the breakage was a unique thing, but even if it wasn't, if you're not moving it a lot it's a fairly non-issue until it's time to move to a new home/location

IQAir HealthPro Plus - review over two months

 They have two defects: a) no casters or handles, meaning you *lug* the thing; b) all three filters – prefilter, gas, and fine particle – are in a single torus-shaped object. Meaning, if one of them gets filled up, you have to replace all three. On the flip side, they’re cheaper than IQAir filters. One HealthMate Jr replacement filter costs a tad less than the IQAir HyperHepa alone

 About this angle:  Crevice tool -> /| <- coarse dust filter  Otherwise, after a couple of weeks the unit again starts causing me trouble, I guess because some of the dirt accumulating on the coarse dust filter gets knocked loose by incoming crud, and ends up right back in the air. That’s my theory. I just know after a couple weeks, I have to clean or replace that filter, and clean is a lot cheaper than replace. I have also tried some cheaper aftermarket coarse-dust filters, NOT from IQAir, and trust me: get the one from IQAir and vacuum them from time to time

  On the other hand, if your allergies are such that you just plain require absolutely clean air (such as, you have bronchiectasis), especially of mold, then you want the IQAir. They advertise that the unit puts out “chemically pure” air, and I believe it. And you can move a LOT of air through this per minute, up to 300 cubic feet. That’s all the air in a 16x20 room with a 10-foot ceiling in ten minutes

 Then order a separate V5 gas filter. Otherwise, they’ll ship the unit with a V5 filter installed, and during shipping a bunch of the potassium permanganate will shake out into the unit. Your helpful IQAir phone representative will, like any engineer anywhere, tell you that this is no problem, the HyperHEPA will filter it all out. Don’t believe it

Absolutely worth the awesome price tag -- and some hard-earned advice to the new buyer

  I've only had the filter for a week so I can't say that I've experienced any immediate changes. I've limited the filter to the bedroom since that is where my doctor recommended it since I have trouble sleeping due to not being able to breathe. Since getting the filter we've had this crazy storm blowing in from the west that's just been kicking up a ton of sand (I live in a desert area) so I'm sure all the sand blowing around isn't helping. However, usually when this happens I'm a sneezing miserable mess and so far I've just been a little stuffy at night

 Which is probably why I have such a hard time breathing through my nose. Since getting rid of the pets is not an option and I don't fancy living in a plastic bubble the rest of my life, I decided to try to filter the air in the house to make it a little more bearable.  I've only had the filter for a week so I can't say that I've experienced any immediate changes. I've limited the filter to the bedroom since that is where my doctor recommended it since I have trouble sleeping due to not being able to breathe

 Basically a big square plastic tube or box open at two ends where air is drawn in from the bottom and blow out the top, passing though the filters along the way. There are six speed settings and three filter timers, which tell you when to change the filters. There is a prefilter $59, a HEPA filter $189 and an optional carbon filter they call V5-cell $89 for odors. These filters look to me like serious filters and are what convinced me to buy this machine

 They where easy to get a hold of and great to deal with. Had the new part in the mail the same day. I want to further explain why I gave this machine only 4 stars. Two reasons; for the price of this machine I believe the housing should be of a better quality and for the price I feel they could have baffled the sound to get it quieter

Big and Loud, but a real work horse.

 The unit is very quiet on the middle and lower speeds, and not bad on the higher speeds. This Swiss-made air purifier appears to be very well made. The materials and construction appear to be high quality. It is an expensive item, but if you live in a region where there is year round pollen, dust and mold, and you are allergic to it all, this is definitely worth the investment

 The gas/odor filter also works very well. A neighbor's cooking smells are often unpleasant and strong -- this filter made them disappear. The unit is very quiet on the middle and lower speeds, and not bad on the higher speeds. This Swiss-made air purifier appears to be very well made

This is a wonderful air purifier. I've had it running constantly since I received it a couple of weeks ago. It started making a big difference in a couple of days. My allergy symptoms have virtually disappeared (indoors at least)

My neighbor smokes and this is why I bought it too to take the smoke in the air. I didn't have to get up at 3:00 am in the morning to run my fan. And I usually have to run my fan in the kitchen and laundry room.
