 Coming up, the pressure is going to release short bursts of steam. Here it has taken exactly 10 minutes to come up to pressure and you can see as it increases in pressure. A little bit of steam is going to be released and looks like that, and that's completely normal again, don't put it underneath the countertop or light that you want steam. You can also use this outside I've done that before it's the thought of releasing pressure like that

So you want to look what you put in: there is going to pretty much stay. One thing I was going to say was that a tough time to get stuck under pressure exactly and so about 25 minutes, all in all to do the water test and get yourself familiar with your new instant pot

 You would need a concealer to seal your meat if you're doing meat and what the instant pot will do will keep it at a consistent temperature similar. It says, as it does with the yogurt and then you can sear the meat after it's done to being at a certain temperature and supposed to come out like butter. I really want to try that out. I haven't haven't done it yet, but I would definitely do a video as soon as I do that and of course the screen comes out after about five seconds, which is kind of annoying

New Instant Pot Max Review/Overview and Water Test 2018

 It has a sleek look to it and it pressure cooks most things very well.  The ability to get to 15PSI is nice, but it doesn’t really shave that much off cook times, especially when you factor in the time it takes to warm up. It saves about 10% of time. That means for a 30-minute dish, you might save 3 minutes of cooking, but the extra heat-up time is going to take at least some of that

 I can’t stress enough how much I despise the electronic pressure release.  My advice: Get the Ultra. The Max isn’t worth it, especially at full price. I give the Max three stars, but I still do not recommend, and it’s all because of the stupid electronic pressure release

 It saves about 10% of time. That means for a 30-minute dish, you might save 3 minutes of cooking, but the extra heat-up time is going to take at least some of that. It certainly doesn’t command the premium price.  The lack of pre-programmed buttons is a little dumb, not that big of a deal to me

 It just means I have to remember how long to cook something, instead of simply pushing a button.  My biggest frustration, by far, is the electronic pressure release. Why they created that feature without adding the ability to program it to automatically release the pressure after a designated amount of time is beyond me. It’s just lazy engineering

Electronic Pressure Release is Awful

 It has a steam rack with handles, which makes it a lot easier to grab the rack from the pot. The Max even includes two silicon, claw-like mitts that you place on your hands so you don’t burn the crap out of yourself when grabbing the steaming rack.

 The Max pressure mode is supposed to decrease cooking times. However, it takes an exceptionally long time for the pot to reach max pressure. When compared side-by-side with the 6-quart Instant Pot Duo, the Max took longer to reach full pressure when making most recipes including frozen chicken, frozen ground beef, or frozen spinach dip. For instance, the Duo took 11 minutes to reach high pressure when making two pounds of frozen ground beef, while the max took 20 minutes to reach max pressure and 14 minutes to reach high pressure

The lid on the Max, while durable, doesn’t close as smoothly as it does on other Instant Pot models. It twists into place and there’s an indicator on the display to let you know that you’ve closed it properly, but it feels a bit “sticky” when you close it. It reminds me of an old car door that needs a bit of WD-40. Although this is a small thing, it’s definitely noticeable

 The 6-quart Max is heavy — heavier than the Duo or the Ultra. It feels sturdy, but it doesn’t feel so heavy that you’ll strain your back trying to lift it.

 It also has more safety mechanisms in place than the other Instant Pot models (13 safety mechanisms compared to 10 or 11 on the other models).

It does everything you can imagine, but the Instant Pot Max has one major flaw

 3. Larger capacity! My family may be growing soon and my teenage boys already have appetites that challenge many of my larger pots. The increased capacity of the IP Ultra 80 over the standard 6qt pressure cooker is just what I needed. And even if we don’t “grow” now I have room to entertain

 Pressure release valve and sealing system. Like early IPs, my other EPC had a pressure release valve that you had to handle. If you weren’t careful it could burn. Thankfully this never happened to me, but the IP Ultra is safer with the separate release

 I immediately forgot about this, and ruined another batch of oats with the spices I use in pinto beans, and ruined another gasket. This left me with one "neutral" and two "spicy" gaskets.  I tried removing the gaskets during storage so I would pay attention to which one I was using before I ruined another meal. Guess what: I forgot to use any gasket, and it leaked oatmeal liquid all over the counter

 The Instant Pot doesn't have that problem *when used correctly*, but if you forget the seal, you have some serious clean-up to do.  Buying spare gaskets is not expensive, so on the advice of other Amazonians, I bought a pair: one for "neutral" meals like my steel-cut oats, and one for "spicy" meals. Lastly, we think the Mini's 2-foot power cord is too short. Electrical outlets in dorm rooms or older homes and apartments are few and far between. A longer cord would give this model greater range and functionality.

Love Your RV

I love my instant pot, I have the 6 qt and now I just got this 3 qt. I use my 6 qt for my soups and main meals and I've been using the 3 qt to make yogurt and will be using it to steam my veggies when I'm cooking something else on my 6 qt one. I recommend the instant pot to anyone it's awesome as it saves you time and it's so easy to use. I haven't use my rice cooker nor my slow cooker since I bought my first instant pot three years ago!

 What lid? I dug the box out of the trash & double checked. There was no lid. I then read some additional reviews & learned that it doesn't come with a lid! What??? It's a slow cooker!! No lid? It works great for pressure cooking but I bought this because it says it's useful for several things. I intended to get rid of my 3 Crockpots, steamer & 2 pressure cookers but it doesn't have one of the essential pieces

 Nice, heavy stainless steel cooking bowl, pretty heavy duty bottom on it. Okay so the build quality looks pretty good on it. It says getting started, place steam release handle on lid, install condensation collector, back a cooker and they want me to put in, do a test run with three measuring cups full of water. Let's try that again

 Here's the yogurt. You can delay start it so you know you want to set it, you go out and when you come back everything is ready, you've got saute and slow cook and pressure cook. There we go I just guess it finished its two minute cycle, now it's in the keep warm mode. So now we'll just cancel that and I think from the instructions you're supposed to turn this thing over to venting, to use gloves or something

 Okay so let's see what, looks pretty good, looks pretty good, steamy, so we'll get those out of there and put some more sauce on them and get them on the barbeque, what do you think of that beagle, oh yeah, okay let's coat it with a little more sweet baby raisin on there, let them heat up and caramelize a bit and get all yummy, yeah, someone's losing their little beagle mind over there, oh my god, smells so good, yeah so they're literally just falling off the bone, they're going to be so yummy. Those turned out excellent, oh so good, hands out on her boat right now, wait until she comes home, got some tasty rubs, anyway so far so good with the instant pot, it's a hit with me, what I'm going to do, rather than get too much into an in-depth review, it's been done a thousand times on the internet, but what I'm going to do is do some tests with my inverter, this model says it puts out 700 watts or needs 700 watts to run, my inverter is a thousand watts so I should be able to test with my inverter and I'll test on maybe one of these 30 minute pressure cooking cycles and maybe I'll do like you know a four hour or so slow cooker cycle and I'll unhook all my charging, my charge converter and my solar panel so I'll start with 100% battery power and we'll see how many amp hours I lose running the old instant pot here, it'll be an interesting test, so stay tuned for that, until next time, oh I've got to give the beagle some, she's been losing her mind like crazy, a little bit of beagle stuff here, there, some of this gooey stuff, there you go, okay beagle, wait, ah, no, wait, sit, sit, good girl, sit pretty, there you go, speak, speak, speak, that's your best speak, speak bigger, lay down, okay, okay, yes, I'll have to see if the beagle approves of it, yeah I'm thinking it gets the beagle approval, definitely, until next time, Ray from loveyourrv.com, cheers everyone.
