Instant Pot 140-3082-01 vs NuWave 6 Quart 37001

Problem 4: The basket becomes very difficult to open and close once the unit gets hot. It sticks when the basket is closed and doesn't seem to want to close once open. I almost burned myself opening the basket. This problem goes away once the fryer/basket cools

I brought this because I hate cooking using my stove in my small hot kitchen...this fryer is great at keeping my kitchen cool without sacrificing the quality of my food

Place it back again still says “open” clearly this machine is defective or just a POS! Call up Amazon and bam a new next day and when a label to return the old one. Thank you for that! Well on to the new one exactly like my previous one. Well can you guess what happened?!??!!!! The same damn thing!!!! What the Heck!!!! I mean come on who makes this up and makes this crap. Two machine doing the same thing a simple fix?! Well I think not

I was very excited to get this air fryer but, within a month, the bottom of the basket began to peel and, along with peeling comes the rust. I was stuck with it b/c I read this was not a warranty issue so very disappointed and looking for a new air fryer but most likely not this brand. I will say, at first it started out cooking okay but should have lasted longer.

The basket and cooking tray are easy to clean and the non-stick coating is working well - some said the the non-stick coating is coming off, I did not see this my unit either. I did note that the results are much better if you use olive oil cooking spray on the food before frying. This is especially noticeable on breaded food such as chicken fingers. I like the fact the fries were crisp and very tasty. I bakes or what the call it fries with no messy oil. Quickly cooked. There was no real clean up

Generally: Lower temperature by 25°F and set cooking time to 80% of the middle of the recommended cooking time for conventional oven instructions when cooking using air fryer mode. This usually gets you in the ballpark, but with a minute or two to go, you might have to stop it or add time. I've been using that method from the beginning, and it has served me well.

The biggest problem is that I had to cook food in batches to accommodate our family of 5 making cooking with this take a lot longer. Since the results of cooking were the same and it cooks much less food at a time I am returning this. I see this being beneficial for someone cooking just for them or for cooking for 2 people, not ideal for a family. It is really just a gimmicky small version of a traditional oven with a fan

Took up a lot of space on the counter. I love my InstantPot, but this thing was used 3 times and returned. Even if the dial worked, I don’t think I could have justified keeping it.

4) On the PLUS size - it does clean up easy Of all the research I did on this item ... I'm glad I got the NuWave cuz it is quiet and I like the design - especially the back of the machine where the hot air comes out

When the unit cools down, it’s a hassle to get close. While a patient person wouldn’t mind, it can be annoying. I’d go a different route if you need back to back usage. Would not recommend

However, on day 89 I plugged it in and nothing! It was dead. Contacted Nuwave and they want an additional "processing fee" to send out a new power base. Seems wrong that I am paying any amount for an appliance I've had for less than 90 days. But I paid it today and will get the power base in about a week

Simple setup, easy to use, and can sit right on your counter and not take up much room. I love how this is so much healthier because it uses little to no oil. My kids favorite thing is how fast it completes everything. Our favorite items have preset controls so it starts with just a touch of a button

It's a much healthier way to prepare our favorite foods! Does everything is says. I had to play with the first few times to cook like i wanted it but now I just love the way the food comes out so perfect, it even bakes anything!
