1. The small daypack isn't big enough to hold much. My 14" laptop barely fit in it and there is maybe enough space in the main compartment for a light jacket. There aren't pockets to hold much else

To me, the start and end of the zip is the weakest part of the bag, and the expandable zip seems to be a less robust zipper than the other compartments. I feel a bit concerned that \*that\* is the part of the zipper that will constantly be in contact with the ground. The other design flaw is that the deeper clothes storage part of the bag faces downwards (towards your back) as opposed to frontwards (the front compartment)

* Enough compartments and where you'd want them. In the main compartment there is a flat storage on the main flap, a hidden flat pocket at the top side (hidden cash or passport pocket). Top pocket (Safety Zone) that's crush resistant and has multiple internal sections for things like travel docs, charging cables and other bits and bobs

The laptop compartment holds my 13 inch macbook pro fine, and I'm sure the 15 inch would fit with more than enough space as well. I also have some notebooks, and papers in that pocket as well with no problem. The lining definitely feels premium, and though not extremely padded on the bottom, I'm sure your laptop would be fine, lest you slam the bag on the ground. The amount of organization is just enough for me, with a few pen holders, and larger pockets to allow for flexibility

I purchased the 60L version for one bag air travel, and overall am very happy with it. I've owned a Thule laptop backpack for several years and the features and quality are outstanding. Thule puts a lot of thought into their packs! This bag has a lot of features - I won't go over them since they are in the other reviews and the videos. One big feature that I missed between the 40L and the 60L is that the main bag of the 60L does not have a laptop compartment like the 40L

All the good things you've read here, but the inability to secure the shoulder straps when not using it as a backpack makes it a snagging hazard par excellence and annoys me every time I pick it up. Stupid design oversight.

Only down fall is the sternum/chest strap can fall off. My wife lost hers while changing trains. They could have figured out a way to secure it better.

Fits well, easy to use, not too big and most importantly works as two a carry on and a personal item for flights. Large pack easily fits into smaller overhead compartments in smaller planes like a CRJ700.
