I’m currently sleeping on the 25+ year old mattress that I was conceived on. As you can imagine I’m very excited to graduate from this one for multiple reasons. 

After trying out a handful of different mattresses and understanding the ridiculous prices of some, I’ve come to the conclusions that 1) I prefer a medium/firm bed, and 2) I’m poor. I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?

 I Want to be clear that I'm not feeling in any way unstable here though. and I also want to point out that relative to most all foam mattresses again, particularly the ones that contain a lot of memory foam, this is actually less dip than we're accustomed to seeing. And you particularly notice this when I lay down on the edge of the mattress and I always get my shoulder blade right on the edge to be consistent. And what I can tell you is that I feel relatively stable here

 And then the third thing they've done is in that same top layer, they've used gel swirls, which again, gel is a conductor so it can help pull that heat away from your body a little bit. and I Guess the last point I would make relative to a traditional memory foam mattress is that this mattress doesn't conform to your body quite as closely as certainly as most memory foam mattresses that have four and a half inches of memory foam would and that has to do with this this quilting layer on the top which which by definition due to its undulations introduce greater points of contact between your body and the air which allows heat to more efficiently escape your body. So all think all those things being factored in this mattress in general if not going to sleep as hot as many other memory foam mattresses like it. Another concern for some people is the degree of natural materials in the mattress or maybe just the lack of harmful chemicals

 In terms of the cost, the current price of a luminous mattress in a queen-size is 1099, and on top of that, you're going to pay a $99 delivery charge, and you also have the option of adding a matching foundation or what some people might call a box spring although there aren't any springs in it for an additional two hundred and fifty dollars. And in terms of what you're getting for that, you're getting what's billed as a twelve inch mattress, but it's actually more like a 13 inch mattress when you consider the additional inch of loft that the company really doesn't give itself credit for. I'm just seeing some yellow and some green on my shoulders and my hips. It's a good match for side sleeping no red on those areas so should be a good match for you as well as a side sleeper and finally moving to my stomach Here Again, this is really that important for pressure relief, but just looking at it all the same, some nice even blue across most of the mattress and also under my, uh, my rib cage. there's a little bit of green, not too surprising if you sleep with a partner

I really like the tempurpedic luxe breeze but my husband doesn’t love the price and I’ve read some mixed reviews about their durability. I'd suggest looking into Sleep EZ, Arizona Premium Mattress, or Flexus Comfort for better options in latex hybrids at very reasonable prices

I used to be a broke student when I bought this, but I'm now able to 'upgrade' and spend up to $1,600 on a mattress. I'm an averaged sized side and stomach sleeper and I don't move much in my sleep. I run very hot when sleeping, so much so that I sometimes turn on the AC even when it's freezing out in February. My partner is an average sized back, side and stomach sleeper and he rolls around quite a bit while asleep.

I'm considering buying either the Saatva Loom and Leaf or Nest Latex Hybrid. Are these the right choices for me? Anything else I should consider? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much.
