 It's for a poppy playful ski it did ride a little stiffer. I recommend this for an intermediate to advanced skier that's looking to progress a little bit in their skiing.

The Icelantic Nomad 95 is a great ski for the strong intermediate to expert level skier looking for a playful ride that will rip it in the park, charge down a wide open bowl and take on everything in between. Icelantic's Tri-Axe Construction has three layers of 20mm Rubber Foil that dampens out vibrations from sticking a big landing, giant cliff hucks and top speeds. Fiberglass Laminates reinforce the ski to give it a little bit of snap without adding any extra weight. If you never know if you are going to be spending your day in the park or wandering around the rest of the mountain, the Icelantic Nomad 95 is a perfect choice.

 Hey, Parker here, just got done riding the Nomad

 95's by Icelantic. Super fun playful ski, 95 under waist so you can take it

 absolutely anywhere on the mountain. Performs well in deeper snow, works well

 on the front face as well. If you want you can even take it into the park. It's

 for a poppy playful ski it did ride a little stiffer.

 I recommend this for an intermediate to advanced skier that's looking to progress a little bit in their skiing.

The East coast vs west coast snow packs are just so different. You are taking about skis with such huge sweet spots that not a lot of skis can really offer. The skis that I think have the best shot of being the a ski that could pull it off are the moment wildcat 101, jskis master blaster, icelantic nomad 95.

As a thought experiment, what is the single most versatile ski for the widest audience? A lot of all-mountain award winners usually specify advanced+ skiers and have a bias towards one type of terrain or another.

What skis would provide the widest envelope of performance for the widest group of people, eg acceptable performance in everything if not actually the best performance in anything. As in I could give a chargey 220lb western advanced skier and a timid 150lb eastern intermediate the same skis and both would have a decent if not amazing time. 

IDK if this ski exists, but it would probably have:

* rockered/twinned tips and tails 
* moderate weight 
* fat enough width for soft snow
* narrow enough for hardpack
* reasonably stiff flex underfoot
* 15-20m sidecut 
* reasonably soft flex in the tips/tails
* some vibration damping construction (carbon, partial titanal, etc)
* adapts well to progressive as well as traditional mount points 
* adapts well to skiers of variable size/weight 

The closest skis I can think of are Salomon QSTs, Fischer Ranger FRs, Line Sick Days, Elan Ripsticks; none of which seem to be particularly best selling or award winning.

But what exists on the other end of that extreme?

 I would say that if you're a person that likes to you know kind of do the all-mountain freestyle thing but sticks to the groomers that's a good option for you. This ski is Icelantic's take on the more narrow all-mountain side of things it's 95 underfoot it's pretty fun it's got a fair bit of rocker in it so it's uh likes to pivot a lot these guys are uh fairly fairly stiff laterally and a little bit softer in the shovel and kind of through like the first part of the flex and then a little bit more solid underfoot so it likes to grab and carve trenches on those groomers for sure but this ski is definitely a lot more focused towards that kind of soft snow stuff that is not groomed basically probably say this would be a good ski if you're kind of looking for something that can go all over likes park you like moguls this ski has a great pivot and moguls might look elsewhere if you're looking for like a full-on hardcore charger with no speed limit this guy does like to make shorter radius turns um those longer ones do get a bit squirrely it can hold its own in high speeds but it doesn't do as well as some other options out there. With three of Volkl’s Tailored Technologies underfoot, be prepared to tackle anything the mountain throws your way.
This year Volkl introduces their 3D Radius Sidecut technology to the M6 Mantra. Boasting three different turn radii within the side of the ski, the M6 can achieve a different turn outcome depending on skier input. This new technology admittedly took some getting used to. However, we found the tech especially helpful when merging onto a new run with more traffic or exiting a mogul field back onto the groomer. The M6 Mantra is on the damp side of the spectrum for skis. But we can’t complain when the overall result is the superior combination of stability and maneuverability that this ski offers through icy groomers, afternoon chop and slop, and deep pow days.

On the heels of the extremely successful and well-loved M5, Volkl hasn’t rocked the boat too much with the new M6 Mantra. It remains an extremely powerful and precise all-mountain option that’s perfectly happy in the hands of hard chargers at speed. Volkl did make some tweaks to the Titanal Frame construction: shorter skis now have less metal and are a little softer, while longer options are stronger with more metal. You also get the brand’s 3D Radius (also found in the Kendo below), which effectively gives the ski three different turn radii. In practice, it’s pretty impressive, and the M6 feels comfortable at everything from tight and quick turns to wide GS sweepers.

It’s a close call between the M6 and Nordica Enforcer above, and both are versatile, standout models. In parsing out the differences, the Mantra is noticeably wider at the tip (by 8mm), and its stiffer build gives it the advantage in terms of stability. But the Nordica is more comfortable in tight spaces with its nimble, easier-to-manage flex (this also makes it a better option for intermediate-level skiers). Both are excellent one-quiver options for riders that spend the majority of their time on groomers or in regions with moderate snowfall.
