 What's up guys this is Aaron Bandler from curated.com I just got off the new Volkl M5 Mantra ski.  What's up guys this is Aaron Bandler from curated.com I just got off the new

 Volkl M5 Mantra ski. First off I'm not sponsored by any brand I'm not being

 paid for or receiving any product from any brand for these reviews. So this ski

 is marketed towards an aggressive all-mountain skier this is 96 underfoot

 which gives it it makes it a little bit on the narrow end of the middle of the

 all-mountain category. This ski is stiff and powerful it has a metal frame that

 goes around the edges here and the both the tips and the tail which adds a lot

 of stability and power to this ski when you have it on the hard pack. This ski

 absolutely charges. This thing is meant to go fast and hard and it is just a lot

 of fun when driven by a confident skier. I did notice when I was going really

 fast through some of the runouts I noticed a little bit of tip chatter not

 so much not enough that it was bothersome it wasn't the tips weren't

 slapping the snow or anything but there was definitely some vibration in the tip

 there that I was aware of that did not at all take away from the ability of the

 ski to ski well. The 96 is gonna appeal more towards somebody who spends more

 time on hard pack or maybe somebody back East who ski and ice more of the time. I

 would not recommend this ski to anybody who is just starting out or progressing

 as an intermediate this is really an advanced to expert level ski for

 somebody who skis hard and has a lot of experience and really knows how to push

 a ski. I personally had a ton of fun on this ski but it is not necessarily

 right for everybody so if you have questions about what ski might be right

 So we weren't really able to bring it into really tight technical trees that we have here in Vermont. But in that application, I do think it's going to feel more forgiving and just easier in general. And a lot of that comes down to, you know, the lighter swing weight too. It's the longer radius and the tips and the tails are not going to feel as catchy and then a lighter swing weight, less fatiguing, a little easier to throw side to side

 We haven't really seen this application of carbon or specifically this use of carbon in the tip. And I think the tweaks to the titanal frame were really cool too, and the way that they're changing that based on length is really cool. You know, I think these are valuable changes to the Mantra, and I'd just say great job, Bokel. You know, you took a ski that was really good and you made it better, and that's a really hard thing to do

 Yeah, this is the brand new M6 Mantra from Volkl.

 It's really cool, you know, in a lot of ways it's a very similar ski to the M5 Mantra,

 but they did make some changes to it that I think definitely improved the way it skis.

 We've had a few test days on them now and I just think the engineering behind the changes
