 But the whole point is this is pushing that technology basically to its size limits at this point. and so from it we can learn a lot about where the tech is right now.  So we get the 13.0" Nano which still manages to be the lightest ThinkPad ever built and is small enough to fit in a case designed for an 11.6" Netbook (ask me how I know). So I'm more than happy with that

Serious question. I've been buying, using, and fixing Thinkpads for over a decade and Lenovo's website has pretty much always been trash but it somehow seems to have reached a new low.

You can turn on filters for price, screen size, and ratings and that's it. Really Lenovo? You really can't even let people sort by series? I seriously have to scroll through the entire fucking page of 58 different models and hunt down every deviation of the models I'm interested in? At least put in a filter for CPU makes and GPU models.

It took a stupidly long time to track down a model I was interested in with all the specs I was looking for. Now I'm comparing it to a similar XPS and guess what? Dell's website actually has useful filters... Go figure.

And since when is a 13" laptop considered "nano"-sized? I realize a lot of people like the new X series laptops and a business would be stupid to ignore its customers, but last I checked the X series were supposed to be portable. 15 and 16 inch laptops even if light in weight are certainly not "small" by any means.

What happened to the product line of laptops engineered for engineers? Who the hell wants to walk through 20 rooms one after the other carrying a 15" laptop with a bag full of dongles?

Speaking about modern laptops in general, who gives a shit if it's 2lb vs 6lb? No one is going to carry a laptop for so long where they notice the difference. Meanwhile that 2lb of 15" wide soldered ram could've had at least allowed for larger heatsinks and better cooling. But no, it's all about small bezels and high resolution displays so that you can drain your battery as fast as possible while looking at the screen from two feet away.

Is engineering and buying for practicality no longer allowed? I'm not against building and selling laptops for the average consumer, business is business after all, but why is a more practical model not even an option?

And highlighting a segment of text or getting my cursor to land in an exact spot was often a trial-and-error process. Even with the touchpad on its lowest sensitivity, I rarely got the right location on the first go

 It’s a whopping $2,499, not including the stylus and keyboard. (Bundles with both accessories start at $2,749 on Lenovo’s website.) That’s more than anyone needs to spend even to get a very good laptop — and there are a few too many problems with the X1 Fold for me to put it in that category. 

 That’s not necessarily unexpected for a laptop with an OLED display and only a 50Whr battery. But it’s not good for a $2,500 device, especially one that’s meant to be used on the go. The Surface Pro 7, which has a higher-resolution screen, got seven to eight hours in our testing.

 Judging From other reviews battery tests, it seems I would get better endurance if I didn't have to run the screen at max brightness almost all the time. But it's top line output of 300 nits Just isn't bright enough for a machine that's supposed to come with me everywhere. I Go. And I Want to take the X1 Fold everywhere I Go

 this Lakefield Core I5 Cpu doesn't pack any of the newer niceties Intel included with its Evo line. Like The rapid wakeup and better battery management I Talked about on my Asus Zenbook Duo 14 review. That Platform or maybe even Qualcomm's Always Connected PC Snapdragon would've been a perfect fit for a device like this. As It stands now,, the X1 Fold is often slow to wake, and if I'm using it in easel mode with the full screen, I generally get fewer than four hours of constant use on a full charge

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Review: More Is Less
