I want a shoe that has the cushion and drop of my Hoka Speedgoat with the toebox of my Altra Olympus 4.0.

Beware they do run very narrow at the toe and are not for everyone. If you needed the extra toe room you could look to the Hoka EVO Speedgoat,. EVO Mafate 2 or the Mafate Speed 3, all of which are high cushioned but have a stretchy bit of fabric over the toe, which can make the fit more accommodating.

I currently run in Nike Pegasus Trail Gore Tex. they are ok. But not great.

Shoes for long days of running &amp; hiking

I’ve done a couple ultras in loose snow, which felt a lot like running in sand to me. I’ve used both the SpeedCross and Hoka SpeedGoat. The ‘goats might have had the advantage due to the much wider sole helping with flotation, but I felt they got a lot heavier when wet. In all instances I studded the soles with about 8 sheet metal screws at the end of some select lugs, which I felt helped with a little extra grip even when ice wasn’t an issue

Wondering if anyone had any advice about shoes that may be better suited for sandy environments. I’m used to running in rocky, rooty, muddy Vermont environments and want to be better prepared for a trail that is relatively flat but very sandy. I currently sport the Salomon speed cross 5s and have used them in sand before but really don’t feel like the larger lugs give any advantage

Recommendations for trail shoes for sand

For years I wore boots (really heavy), then shoes (heavy) and now trail runners (not so heavy). I prefer the Hoka One Speedgoat trail runners. They are good for dry conditions, have great grip and stability (for me). I have never had ankle stability issues, so it works great

Does anyone backpack with trail running shoes? If boots, do you use actual “backpacking” boots or just something with ankle support?

, (4) have great cushioning for all-day wear on sharp surfaces, and (5) are not so heavy that I feel like I'm fighting the shoe when picking up the pace. I've run in Altra Timps and Lone Peaks, Brooks Caldera 4, La Sportiva Jackal, Salomon Sense Ride 3, and Topo MTN Racer 1s and none of these had all-day underfoot cushioning and protection against sharps like the Speedgoats. The durability of my Speedgoats have been good.

New trail running shoes

I run in the Speedgoat 3s and the Speedgoat 4 is a step back for me with regards to weight since it got heavier. The Speedgoat Evo on the other hand, is a huge improvement and superior to the Speedgoat 3 and 4.

For 3 season hiking I chose Hoka speedgoat 3, followed very closely by the brooks cascadia. They're both VERY comfortable shoes that are light and breath + dry very well. Lightness + Breathability + Drying quickly > a heavy gnarly boot that tries to keep you clean and dry but inevitably will get water logged from sweat anyway or the elements, just might take longer vs a trail runner. Also 1 pound on your foot is 5 pounds on your back

I'm  new to hiking but my girlfriend finally convinced me to go to a hiking  trip with her, somewhere around Schönau am Königssee and on the mountain area around it (nothing extreme tho). I've been looking for some proper shoes cause I'm  pretty sure I would regret it if I go with my ultra boost, and I've  found a few alternative:

1. Salomon  Quest Prime GTX: The only boots. Is it okay or overkill? I think it's  the most robust of them all and I can wear it when hiking during winter  or ski vacation. (114 euro)
2. Salomon  XA Pro 3D V8: trail runners, seems really comfy. However, no  waterproofness (can't use it in winter). I don't know if it offers  enough protection and grip? (96 euro)
3. Salomon  Trailster 2 GTX: quite similer to the XA, with GTX waterproofness.  However I've heard some controversy regarding GTX on trail runners (too  warm, sweaty feet). (72 euro)
4. Last  but not least: Merell Moab 2 (vents or GTX). Mother of all boots.  Almost bought the vents one immediately but read that it's really,  really prone to getting wet (even with just some wet grass). Not sure if  it's true and if I should just get the GTX version. Both around 80-90  euro.

What do you guys  think? Sadly I can't go to Globetrotter cause of the 'rona. I appreciate  any answer or if you have other suggestions, I would be very thankful!  Thanks and sorry for the long post. :)

I think salomon would be more versatile and less of an overkill but let&#39;s see. Kinda tempted of the idea of having  &quot;real&quot; boots in addition to my Timbs for winter :)</p>

 This has been bought 100 with my own money, so no affiliations, nothing. There. We'Ve just gone and bought this shoe to make this review to help you with your running. This comes in at around about 160 pounds, which is what i paid for this off the nike website in the us on running warehouse and things around about 180 and in europe around about 160 euros, there's a flyknit upper to the top, so really stretchy, and then To the bottom, this is all nike's top zoom x, midsole super squishy and responsive as well

 This is very much an easy or recovery run shoe. Yes, of course, you can run a little bit faster in it, but we'll come on to that later on in the review. It was a true to size for me, so i got this in my standard uk 12, which i get all of my nike shoes in, and there was absolutely fine and also i found the width pretty good. I think if you had, if you are someone that has a wider foot, you might have a few issues again which we'll come on to later on

 There'S not that much you can do with that other than those easing recovery runs. I just think that price is really around about 20 or 30 pounds just too expensive. Yes, it's a bit of a unique shoe. I think we'll see a lot of other manufacturers trying to copy what nike have done in this shoe, but i just think it's too expensive

NIKE INVINCIBLE REVIEW over priced? BEST in CLASS? My 100% Honest Review!

 The Triumph initially feels like slipping a bit but that is only a sensation due to the heel collar is very slick. I don’t feel that anymore after some running in it. In terms of step-in comfort, I would say Triumph > Shift ~ Invincible. The Triumph is very plush and soft

This is where the three shoes have distinctive characters. Because of the stack height, in none of these shoes you will feel the road at all. If I may try to describe the midsole in three different sub-categories, they would be the shock absorbing capability, the energy return and the rate of the return, and finally the sole geometry. 

 In terms of step-in comfort, I would say Triumph > Shift ~ Invincible. The Triumph is very plush and soft. It screams comfort. Some people may find it too much shoe and it does feel warm in the summer

4 hoca, clifton sevens are 9.1 and the fresh foam b11s are 9.6 heaviest shoe on the board. Out of all the comfortable sneakers out here, which that kind of pains me a little bit because i would have expected this again to be that much lighter

 This is softer and squishier than all of those, and you also get that on the tongue as well, and one of my favorite features the fact again - and i always say this, but they have an attached detached tongue, which means it's detached at the top. It feels like a regular tongue, but it's kind of a mock tongue because from this point down, it's actually locked into your foot and it's sewn on each side of the shoe. So it's loose at the top and then also lock down at the bottom. And honestly, it's just the best of both worlds

 I will be doing a month after wearing these, because i plan on beating these up pretty heavily in the next month, um some of the pros, obviously they're squishy af. These are squishy. They feel amazingly soft and squishy on feet. If you want a recovery sneaker

 But it is a shoe that i definitely want a second pairing, because it's that good, it's soft, squishy and amazingly great on feet, and i i knew this would change my top five vacation uh sneaker countdown. This shoe definitely knocks out the spot of the pegasus turbo. Two turbo ones in the infinity react that sort of place. This one would be the one that i would take instead, so definitely one to keep in mind if you're, looking for something soft and squishy again link in the description, if you guys are trying to buy a pair of these invincible runs, and i think i think These are great leave a comment in the comment section

NIKE ZOOMX INVINCIBLE RUN Review: BEST COMFORTABLE NIKE SNEAKER of 2021!?

 As someone who has to remind himself not to curl his toes when running, having the plate there to keep the shoe shape while toeing off helps. 

I like the fit of the shoe. I have a wide foot but don't buy wide sized shoes. I may be in-between a normal and wide size and prefer a snug fit rather than loose one. These shoes are on the wider side and feel good

When I was working 8h shifts at a Champs, I loved my Nike Air Zoom-Type's, but I would only recommend those to narrow foot people.

I recently picked up a pair of Nike ZoomX Invincible Runs. They're a running model, but the ZoomX foam is ridiculously soft.

My dad is on his feet all day and he's been doing it for 30+ years. He's looking for some shoes that will help him since it's to the point where it hurts to walk. Here's what he's looking at, any recommendations?

They have an amazing fit, one of my favorite uppers ever, and great colors, but I'm not sure what purpose they're serving me. They certainly hate going fast, because even a 20 second stride feels plodding in them. They're cushioned, but not as much as something like the Nike ZoomX Invincible which is way more bouncy and energetic. I guess at best they're a "recovery" run shoe, but even then I'd rather run in my 400+ mile Speeds or Nike Pegasus Turbo 2

I've now run 250+ miles in a pair of ASICS Novablast 2 and I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed aside from the gorgeous colorway. Loved the Novablast 1, it's very bouncy, versatile (I've done both tempos and 20 miles in them somehow) and a really fun ride. I was stoked for the Novablast 2 because it was supposed to be more "stable" (I'm still not entirely sure what that means) and after quite a bit of running in them, they just feel heavy and there's no energy return.
