Hisense 55U8G is actually very good for the money. Currently available for $899. I'd pick that if you're looking to spend under $1000

Having Dolby Atmos is a joke on TV speakers but I'd say they're decent all things considered. Overall it's not a bad TV. I certainly wouldn't buy it if it were more expensive, but considering how cheap it is, I'd still say give it a go if you're on the fence. Just be aware of the caveats before you dive in

When it comes to larger purchases for the house I'm a bit of a researcher. I did some substantial compare and contrast when looking for a new tv for our bedroom and narrowed it down to a Hisense. I'm very glad I came across the site that recommended this model. It wasn't quite the size I was looking for and it was not the newest edition to their line but the reviews were super consistent with very few negatives so I gave it a shot

I've called Hisense and they can't explain why, only how to upair, then re-pair to resolve.

I've seen other reviews or complaints about this problem since purchasing it but haven't found a solution yet. Its not terrible just annoying sometimes.

The only reason for not giving a 5 star is the Roku part of the TV. Best part of rook is the user interface and the size of the remote, but Sometimes the screen gets frozen due to the Roku instability and that causes abt 10-15 seconds of reboot. The alternative for this issue is to put a separate streaming device(I had a previous Apple TV box), so it works wonderful now. And did I mention that I use external speaker, so I can't comment on the speakers as such

The included remote is much less busy than the one that came with the previous model, omitting the seldom-used number pad and color buttons entirely. It’s a black rectagular wand covered in rubber buttons, with a prominent circular navigation pad. Then I decided to pair the two Hisense voice remotes with two of my current Roku TV's and they worked immediately. So the Hisense voice remotes have an issue with their own TV. Ultimately, I'm satisfied just using a standard Roku remote for this TV.
