Herman Miller Sayl vs Hermann Miller Mirra 2

My brother spotted a Herman Miller sayl that was destined for the dumpster at the hospital he worked at. I wiped it down and there was nothing wrong with it, not even stains on the seat cushion. Great chairs, they hold up really well.

After reporting to Backstore, a tech person called and decided that the back part was the problem and sent me a new back (1 week). When that did not work either, I figured that the part where the back slides in had bent in transportation, so I bent that in using a wrench, shortening the distance for the screw, and that worked. The lesson: the packaging of the chair is not the best, they seem to be short in padding material, so check carefully for shipping damages. I hope this helps

I got this chair mostly for the design and for the quality that herman miller is known for. I didn't want to buy a cheaper chair that would break in a year or two. As far as the materials are concerned, the fabric mesh cushion is nice an firm. Good back support

We have also had those at work for 10+ years and they still look and feel brand new. The design is also very sleek and modern and adds an air of sophistication to any room that a cheapo chair just doesn't. I highly recommend this and any Herman Miller product, they are well worth the investment.

Update: I have been told that there is some kind of larger seat, or a seat extender (see comments below this review). I have not tried it, but my review is on the chair you get out of the box. Overall, once the chair is adjusted to your workspace these annoyances fade and you you don't notice them as much. Conclusion Overall, I like the Mirra. It is a great improvement over my Ikea Verksam chair. The Mirra is very comfortable and is highly adjustable
