 I literally had a 7 year old girl in my class today with this exact same snowboard and she was struggling hard core until I switched her out onto one of our Burton rental boards and she was immediately doing so much better. And this wasn't an isolated incident, my fellow instructors and I regularly switch kids off of Head gear in our lessons and tell parents at the end of the day to get a different snowboard for their child. They're seriously that bad.

I've been a children's snowboard instructor for the past 5 years and I can say without a doubt that Head makes the absolute worst children's snowboard gear on the market. These boards are too wide which means kids can't tilt them properly to get speed control on their edges, and they're too stiff with too narrow of a stance which means kids can't twist or flex the board to get any kind of steering out of it. Has that park capability, doesn't cross that 90 millimeter threshold, so we're not putting it really into the powder or soft snow ski category, a little bit happier on firmer snow, and certainly at its happiest in a freestyle format.  We'll see how that comes up when we put them together like this. Very, very much a twin tip in the true and freestyle sense of the word with a midpoint here for center mounting. Also has a midsole for more directional skiing, but we do see some really nice positive camber underfoot. That's going to add to the edge grip of the ski as well as the energy when you're popping off of jumps

 This is an 88mm underfoot, kind of all-mountain, twin-tip ski from K2.

 Definitely one of the burlier skis in this category.

 It can stand up to competitive park skiing, pipe skiing, all-mountain skiing, whatever

 Pretty tough, pretty capable ski for a wide variety of conditions and terrain, not just

 However, if you wanted to use it only in the park, you could do that as well.

 Really speaks to the versatility and well-rounded nature of these skis.

 So built with an Aspen wood core, this ski also gets K2's tri-axial fiberglass braiding

 So they've got carbon stringers running through the center of the ski, and then that tri-axial

 fiberglass really adds a lot of energy to the ski.

 When you pick this up, it's not just a simple cap construction wood core ski.

 This has vertical sidewalls, wood core, carbon stringers, fiberglass laminate, very, very

 tough ski with a good solid feeling to it.

 It has a pretty medium flex, going to give you good energy off the lips in the park as

 well as being able to hold up to some regular skiing.

 It's hard to dismiss the all-mountain capabilities of this as the 88-millimeter underfoot category

 is one of the more popular all-mountain ranges and realms of skis.

 This fits into that, but it also fits into the freestyle and park category as well.

 We'll see how that comes up when we put them together like this.

 Just like I said, true twin tip, very easy to ski backwards, forwards, backwards, whichever

 There's a good amount of taper, but it doesn't extend past the rocker.

 It's just at the front of the ski here, and then when it meets up with the widest part,

 that's when you're going to get that effective edge, going to give you a really smooth ride.

 Then when combined with that slightly burlier construction, it's got more performance than

 that pretty abrupt twin tip leading to that very pronounced splay, so forwards, backwards,

 whichever way, the Midnight's going to do it for you for sure.
